this is an incredible deal for a laptop, the processor is a Ryzen 5 2500U which is really good considering the price, for 399 you can get the i5 version however it is not as good for gaming as this one is.
You could play decent games at medium settings, or get your work done. Insane deal.

EDIT: runs gta at normal settings at a stable 30fps

I bought this one for £358 from ebuyer on ebay using the 20% off code. It has the more recent 3500U rather than the 2500U...so might be worth it for just £9 more.
This is 15.6 IPS + Ryzen 5 + Vega 8 Graphics + 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD + All USB3 + USBC + SD card Reader
for £350.
Should be hotter than a lot of rubbish voted hot on here.

Well!
It is hotter now. From about 40 when I posted the above comment to 1500+ plus now. Nice first post I'd say.

Don't buy it for gaming. Might run solitaire ok

Not intense gaming, no, however it would run average games well. E.g. Minecraft on high, League of Legends etc. Much more capable than just to run solitaire!

Is this the model with the keyboard issues? Or is that the ThinkPad.

No? I’ve read a lot of reviews and none state any issues with the keyboard, there is a 1 year warranty I believe though

8GB RAM and 256GB SSD! Absolutely amazing for that price!! I recently bought the C340 with the same spec, just a 2 in 1 model.

Explain please.

To play high intensity games, for example GTA or really anything graphics heavy, it doesn't have a good enough graphics card for that. However, as I just mentioned in my other comment, it is amazing for that price. You would be very lucky to get spec that good for £350.

This would be perfect for Minecraft and Roblox but would not run GTA, I'm afraid GTA would be too intensive and the requirements would be much higher. However, if you are looking to spend around this much, it is extremely unlikely that you would get anything better than this. I would really recommend it, especially Lenovo as the case itself is high quality! Happy to answer any other questions

I've got the C340 which has identical specs and I can run Destiny 2 (2017) at a constant 40fps on low settings so it should be fine running GTA V on low settings

I wouldn’t be so sure about that

12 benchmarks for this particular APU including gta V which averaged 38fps

I mean you’re not going to run ultra settings on AAA but some of these benchmarks are surprisingly good

Oh, thanks for that! I was thinking back a couple of years ago when I wasn't able to run GTA V at all on my laptop, it would only run on my PC with a better graphics card. Perhaps it was just a particularly crap laptop!

I have the C340 as well, I haven't actually tried running GTA V but as mentioned in my other comment, I just assumed based on previous experience. Maybe I'll give it a go!
Integrated Vega is fine for simpler games or those with better graphical scaling - no, it’s not a gaming laptop but it’ll still be tons quicker than the Intel integrated equivalent. Anyone who buys it for ‘gaming’ is going to be disappointed, anyone who buys it for general use with the odd bit of gaming or eSports titles is going to be extremely happy for a great price.

Has anyone seen one of these in the flesh, what is the build quality like? Are there likely to be any better deals than this coming up,I would like to replace my sons 5 year old laptop and he could play some simple games on this and with the better screen and more RAM than he has at the moment,it sounds like a good deal.

Yeah that’s a good find too, however I was initially looking for a sleek laptop that I could carry and do some work on, that one looks a little thicker, however if you’re happy not moving it about too much it would be perfect
How does compare to hotukdeals.com/dea…235,
this got 1550 degrees recently on here.
This looks a good deal!
I'd be grateful if anyone who knows about these things could help with an opinion.
My Daughter in Law is looking for a laptop primarily for photo editing (she's going to do a photography degree)
She has been recommended: HP 15s-fq0012na 15.6 Inch Full HD Laptop, Intel Core i5-8265U, 8 GB, 512 GB SSD
amazon.co.uk/HP-…8-3

This is quite a bit cheaper so would save some ££ but would it be comparable?
I know the ssd is smaller on this one, but aren't the Ryzens supposed to be good with graphics etc??
Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thnaks in advance RV

IMO - very similar tech specification except
Acer CPU 7.34% more oomph.
Acer has older tech USB and no USB-C
Leno has all USB3 + USB-C
Acer has RJ-45 LAN port;
Leno has no RJ-45 LAN Port but you can get a gizmo for that.

Amazing price, voted hot. I nearly got it, but at 1.9 kg is 600g heavier than mine and 5h battery is not that great, mine is about 10h. Shame, as the specs are much better than my old Acer S13.

The HP 15s-fq0012na is NOT an IPS screen
This Leno is IPS
and for many posters on here,
The HP 15s-fq0012na has inferior graphics
But as you state, 2 X SSD size.
The HP 15s-fq0012na CPU has 9% more oomph See Passmark CPU benchmark results
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me? I'd go for the Leno for far better screen, graphics
and also Price, but that's me, not you.
------------------------------------
Tough decisions
Good luck with whatever you decide.

If it's anything like the Intel CPU version of the 330S then it's not the best, but then again it might depend on whether your 5 year old likes to break stuff?

For the price and specs you're getting here it's a great deal however.

I'm sure a Hackintosh on this would fly!

Would agree - for someone doing lots of photo editing, the IPS screen and better graphics chipset would swing it for me...the CPUs aren't too far away in terms of performance. You can make up for the lesser amounts of storage quite easily...

In term of gaming performance. The Acer with 2nd generation 3500U is better, especially you can get dual-channel RAM with ease. Single channel RAM destroys APUs potential performance.

Also, the Aspire 5 has no throttling issue, because it has better cooling than the Lenovo.
The battery life is better too.

Go for the Lenovo, you could easily upgrade the SSD/ Add an SSD in the available 2.5 inch slot, I will be upgrading the ram on mine followed by the SSD
How does this compare to a intel i7 3632qm
Okay so i need one for studying, only time im going to play games is in christmas for a month other than that 90% studying. Would you recommend a budget gaming laptop via Very with 20% off for around £500-550 after the discount or a non gaming laptop which would be thinner and lighter, wont have a dedi GPU. Have a gaming PC though but it's incase i go else where in christmas, can't be without games right xD

They’re surprisingly well built. Of course at this price point you’re going to have some trade offs but looks wise the dark blue version really looks very well made. The finish is good and durable looking. Lenovo keyboards have always been decent in my opinion.

I would think a value conscious student or someone who needs something for light office work would be very happy with this style and specs

I suspect it just didn’t have enough vram.

Don’t forget the PS4 runs a similar apu to this one based on the older jaguar 28nm cpu with a Polaris based graphics. These are of course u chips which are weaker but much newer with smaller transistors.
