An alternative to the other Lenovo 14" Laptop posted which I thought was a pretty good deal. Posted here hotukdeals.com/dea…184

People were complaining it wasn't full HD so this is an alternative. It's 13.3" instead of 14" and also has a slightly lower processor i3-7100U (the other one has i5-7100U).

  • Intel Core i3 (7th Gen) 7100U / 2.4 GHz Processor
  • 4GB RAM,
  • 128GB SSD
  • 13.3" Full HD Display (1920 x 1080) Resolution
  • Integrated Intel HD 620 Graphics
  • Windows 10 Home 64-bit

Laptop Outlet have this on their website as well but if you buy it through tesco you can collect the clubcard points.

Not expecting this to go blazing but just an alternative to those wanting a slightly smaller screen and/or full HD.

I got this yesterday. Each to their own and obviously spec determines price... but I’m very happy with it

See I don't get people bitching about HD screens, 1920x1080 on 13" you're probably going to have to fiddle with scaling in Windows to be able read anything on 13"

Not bad at all

Buy it from laptops direct eBay click for the same price + Quidco 2% cashback + £2.50 + 8 x Nectar points for a possible £25.30 in savings

Admittedly I'm a little bit of a resolution snob, but the theory behind getting a higher resolution on a smaller screen and having to scale it is for the sharpness. For example I really hate 27" monitors which are only 1080p, but I also get why people don't care as much.

Good price for this laptop btw!

For me full HD is less about the number of pixels (though it holds some weight obviously) and more because full HD displays tend to be better quality as well: more accurate, wider gamut, better contrast. There are so many useless HD panels out there but very few bad full HD ones.

I agree 27” full HD is totally pointless (unless it’s a TV)! Gotta be QHD at least! I got an ultrawide 29” from Amazon in their warehouse sale

Is there much difference in i3 7th gen to i5 7th gen???

Also, could I add a larger/additional standard HD or would I have to use an external 1?

For a basic laptop that will do decent with video, sounds good. I am not sure on all the specs, I only know the basics but for the money you can't go wrong here. Looks nice and sleek too.

BEWARE I bought a lenovo Ideapad laptop and a tablet. After a time both refused to start. I have been able to reset the tablet but have not yet tried to fix the laptop as it has just gone wrong and is still under guarantee!
So if you buy a Lenovo product it may stop working.Searching the net suggests the problems are quite common.

pfffft. Tools or Operator?

Well, yes there is. The i5's out perform the i3 but with the SSD you'll find that it handles day-to-day tasks such as office, streaming, multiple tabs and light photo editing pretty smoothly. Unless you want to use a laptop for gaming (in which case you'll need a dedicated graphics card) or video-editing, then this will do just fine.

Source; Bought one of these for the purposes mentioned above on a Currys deal for £399 - so this is a pretty decent price.

Search the web - common problem. Dont see how failing to switch on (tablet) or move past opening menu can be an operator problem anyway. Ignore the warning and I hope you are one of the ones affected.
