Voted hot, would have gone for this but it is heavier than expected. Saying this because mine is only 1.3 kg and this one is almost 2kg, may not be heavy for some.
Order this good reviews, IPS screen only complaints seem to be battery life

What you guys think I should buy ( Ryzen5 + JL 2 years warranty ) or this i5??
Thank you in advance.
This does seem to be a good option for me, have been searching for a laptop at around this price point and reviews look solid.

here's a good technical breakdown: notebookcheck.net/Len…tml

I think both are great. I like the one from JL because is lighter. I like this one because is 15.6, the other one is smaller. I would have gone for this one if the weight was the same as the one at JL. These 2 are some of my favourite. In terms of specs, I think both are great and the price is attractive for both. Obviously 2 year warranty is better than one year.
when researching the JL further I read that the wireless card was pretty poor in terms of transfer speeds, which for me was a big minus. think I'm gonna pull the trigger and bag myself one of these. even at the heavier side of things its far lighter that what I have currently so will seem like a upgrade!

H Petemx,
I'm thinking to buy JL one based on 2 years warranty and probability but don't have much tech knowledge, so how bad is this wireless card? Will I get low signal strength or
Loose connection? Thanks you.

Here's the review notebookcheck.net/Len…tml

I must have mis-remembered, the big drawback from the review and commentors at the bottom was a very loud high pitched fan sound. The review says the following on the wireless:

Communication
You cannot connect the IdeaPad S540 to the Internet via cable, since it lacks the corresponding RJ-45 port. The WLAN performance remains within an average range. Other than that, there is also Bluetooth 4.2 for communication

TThank you
I'm no expert but am I missing somthing as this spec does not seem thaat special as the 8th gen i5 and 8gb or ram and only 256ssd. Most are offering this for approximat same price or am I missing somthing?
This one has the i7 processor and you should be able to get it for £539.99 by obtaining a 10% off code from Lenovo for signing up for the newsletter. Whether an extra £40 is good value to go from an i5 to an i7 I will leave to people better qualified than me to comment: lenovo.com/gb/…986

I highly doubt the S145 screen is better at 220nits than either the newer model s540 or older 530s.
The 530s was 499 at box end of last year .
I imagine its going to drop in price this year .

The lack of RJ-45 port seems one of its negatives .

Just been to try and get this and the extra 10% off excludes anything with an " Instant Savings" which this does unfortunatly.
