So great but not so great as it's dual core?
Hard drive size is a bit small
Was this not posted at exactly the same price the other day?
Great deal. Heat. Would have gone for this but got a refurb ZenBook i7 for £50 more.
Any good for Football Manager?
Good deal..Ordered thanks
6th generation i7 (new models are on 8th gen FYI). Still a great laptop, but keep in mind you're buying "old" specs

I am sure football managers can afford something more powerful with all that money they get paid :-)

No, but it was posted for £150 more 5 days ago and went hot at £750. I was thinking of buying at that price... glad I waited!

Cold. Not really cold or hot but the heat so far is overrated as this was readily available for a long time at this price on Lenovo a few months ago. hotukdeals.com/dea…233

£599 was the price for the i5 version. Link is dead now, but one of the comments says the i7 version was £680.84
Great deal, though waiting for similar one with touchscreen

The JL description says it's 7th gen.

Edit: I just noticed a different part of the description says 6th gen. Hmm.

I believe the i7 is just an overclocked i5 on this one? Ie it's the same cpu?

FM18 recommended specs are pretty high, including processor speed of at least 2.2ghz. This laptop is 2.7ghz, and 8gb RAM should be enough to run the game without 3D matches.

OS: Windows Vista (SP2), 7 (SP1), 8/8.1, 10 (1703/Creators Update) - 64-bit or 32-bit.
Processor: Intel Pentium 4, Intel Core or AMD Athlon – 2.2 GHz +
Memory: 2 GB RAM.
Graphics: Intel GMA X4500, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT or AMD/ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 – 256MB VRAM.
DirectX: Version 9.0c.
Storage: 7 GB available space.

It’s an ultra book which means it’s meant to be super light and not for gaming.

Gpu adds weight and takes more power and therefore reduces battery life and portability, the two key aspects of what makes an ultra book what it is.

Even MacBooks don’t have a dedicated graphics card at their own stratospheric price point.

Dual-Core Intel Core i7-7500U
In spec, it says 6th gen 🤢
So is this 7th gen or 6th gen lol
Googling the model number confirms that it is in fact 7th gen. I'm not sure I wanna spring for it after reading bad reviews about the track pad, however.

Ive seen a few ultra books with a gpu even 2g. I meant the a gpu would push this deal over the top

The model number on JL is "80VQ0019UK". The other websites I clicked listing this model state the processor is "i7 7500U".
13" and 1080p will be very bad on your eyes long term. As an IT manager I would recommend 1080p on 15.6" screens and bigger preferably 17.3". Also a 13" laptop is not much screen estate for most jobs and is mostly ideal for traveling only. A thin and lightweight 15.6" laptop will be much more all rounder and probably include much better performance in cpu due to larger size to play with.
So gutted I thought holding on I would get something a bit better on boxing Day. All sold out. Grr

Nothing mate, so angry with myself thinking I'll get something better. That's 150 too much for me.

At best the only game I'll be playing is FM2018, everything else will be uni work, downloading music for my iPod and watching movies and sports online. Grrrr
Those that bought this and have test drove it, what do you think?

I ordered this and the surface pro, but unsure which one to send back. This has the better specs. But I quite like the idea of the surface pro due to being able to annotate notes at uni. But feel like this will last longer. I'm on a 5 year course, so wanting something to last.

You won't find anything comparable at this price point for a long time IMO. Exceptional price for the specs and quality.

I had a 710s for a while through work - lightning fast and weighed nothing. Really, crazy light. Great machine. Gutted I missed this deal.

So angry and gutted, I was waiting for more people to comment to give their opinion on whether it was a good deal or not. Urgh!!
