This will be ok for 4k editing with DaVinci Resolve right?

Absolutely not with 8GB RAM. You'd probably want 32GB for a smooth experience at 4K since 16GB is pushing it.

6GB VRAM is the absolute minimum for 4K, but 8GB or more is recommended.

    CPU is likely sufficient.

I would say this is more like a 1080p or 1440p editing machine if you upgrade the RAM. It might be okay with 4K depending on the effects you use. Being a laptop, you can't just swap the GPU or CPU if they're insufficient, so it's the risk you take.

Bought this 2 months ago to run Star Citizen. I didn't realize it had the best screen although I do have a corner with quite a lot of light bleed seems to be a common issue and it will take a couple of weeks to be replaced so just put up with it for now. It really needs another 8gb 3200 straight away, it will game but it can slow down with only 8gb. There is also a bios bug it seems with the cooling on the laptop that Lenovo seem to have abandoned when you change the profile to gaming or quiet mode kind of annoying as we don't have any control over the fans they are noisy while gaming all the time need headphones ideally, Star Citizen actually ran really well with 16gb ram and the common tweaks page file, shader 10k etc it actually surprised me having to make the graphics higher to balance the cpu and gpu but it can play a very poorly optimized game well enough for me and everything else I throw at it so gaming for a few or couple years should be good. I was very concerned with nit rating but it's very bright, I paid £800 over 12 months interest free. Just bare in mind it's a 6 core cpu, it is very basic very entry level but looks like a business laptop which is the other purpose for it for me. I am very pleased with the purchase but would have liked the higher gpu wattage like in the Legion series ideally but don't regret it Dlss seems to take care of things quite well if needed. (edited)

Gpu in Asus is worse by a mile, both need an extra RAM stick, cpu in TUF is better for gaming purpose.Personaly would go with Lenovo.

Even with the better panel (if that's confirmed) this is still very expensive for a laptop that was as low as £464 last year, also £540 and £600. The build quality is 'ok', it's a budget gaming laptop at the end of the day, quite decent when it's £500 price range but at this price it's not exciting or solid enough and the GPU is only 90W which places it at the lower end.

I feel that way, too. Despite having a better panel, I don't think this justifies being over £200 more than the 120Hz panel version has been. It's not even a Legion, it's a budget-oriented IdeaPad. I think it would make sense if it sat around the £600-700 mark. But £779? No thanks. It'd be £800 after throwing in another 8GB (because 16GB should be a minimum for a gaming machine). (edited)

It's the same panel as Legion. There is a 500 nits one,but these laptops are double the price as this one.For indoor use it's more than enough.Cheers.

At least Amazon Prime and guarantees will allow a better reason to try sooner and return if the flags are unworkable
