Was reading up on the reviews yesterday after seeing a few of these models in John Lewis.

Not that positive

Have you seen this one:

I'm not sure this is worth £120 more as there's not much in performance between the processors so you're basically paying for 128Gb extra SSD assuming the rest of the spec matches.

Cold....

how about more insight into your reasoning for it being cold?
This looks pretty decent spec for the money. Personally I wouldn't buy it as the battery is small and there's no dedicated graphics, I bought a Dell 5570 3 days ago with the same i7, 8gb, 256ssd etc but also 11 hour battery, usb c with power (can charge with a usb C cable) and dedicated graphics, cost £580 delivered, but mine was a refurb from the outlet.

Could you please give details on the dell one link etc and promo codes if used thanks
Voted hot as it's a pretty well specced laptop for its price. I managed to get this for £574.99 from Currys eBay store when the 20% voucher code (max. £75 discount) was knocking about a couple of weeks ago. With 3.14% cashback from TCB I got a further £20 off too so ended up costing me just shy of £555.

Do people really think this is value for money? I know it's the cheapest ever but for £479.99 you can get the same laptop with:

i5-8250U
8 GB DDR4 RAM
128 GB SSD
Full HD display 1920x1080

So the only differences you're paying £120 extra for are to upgrade from 128Gb to 256Gb SSD, and i5-8250U to i7-8550U. However since 8th generation i5 and i7 are both 4 core there's only about 10% improvement in speed from the i7according to this article:

laptopmedia.com/comparisons/intel-core-i5-8250u-vs-core-i7-8550u-core-i5-vs-i7-a-never-ending-dispute/

I'm sure this laptop is good but I just don't see how it justifies all that extra money compared with the i5 version.
