Screen too small to watch movies

I usually connect my laptop to my TV when watching movies.

Great value for money.

Would've paid a little more for a backlit keyboard. Surely these things should be as standard on laptops nowadays... Having said that, not often had the need for a backlit keyboard. Would be bad for the eyes anyways.

As someone who doesn’t know too much about all the tech I have to agree this looks like a good deal from what I’ve seen posted on HotUKDeals. However according to PCWorld it’s been this price since 22nd of December so over 3 weeks. I have to ask why wasn’t this posted sooner if it is a great deal as surely someone would have posted sooner?

Don’t mean to come across as a troll or anything, I’m just a n00bie waiting to get a great deal on a laptop

It was already posted here. As I commented in that thread, I have this laptop and I think it's a good deal, though I got it slightly cheaper from their eBay store with a voucher.

OP posted this without checking....his first post anyway
Hmm, decent specification, but no backlit keyboard and a measly, 2 cell battery on a i7 processor'd full HD Laptop.

I think its a ok price but not great.
No kB Backlight? 256GB HD?? Seriously guys????
Thanks for this

Shame no backlit keyboard.

Shame about the 0.3mp webcam. A (640 x 480) VGA camera on a latest £600 laptop is pretty poor.

I'd rather have the option to pay more because I'd not go for that option and save money
I've never had any need for a back lit keyboard. Learn to type without looking at the keyboard people

Intel UHD Graphics 620 (it's built into the processor - i.e. not dedicated)

Thanks
Not a bad price for an everyday PC with an ssd.
Too small to watch movies AND only full HD, so even if the screen were bigger the res wouldn't be enough for that big a screen.

Doubly cold.

Where in the world would you buy from then?
Windows only systems are generally for the poor and uneducated.

Dell/John Lewis/Amazon
I’m waiting on the Lenovo 720s to drop as this comes with a MX 150 graphics card.

Please can anyone with any laptop knowledge comment on this model:

johnlewis.com/hp-…918

I can't seem to find much information on it as to what it's like on a practical basis.

Obviously, I can see it it £130 more than this posting, and technically has: an i5 rather than i7; a 13 inch screen rather than 14; and a 128gb hard drive rather than 256gb. However, i prefer a slightly smaller more portable laptop, the screen is IPS and touch and I think it has a backlit keyboard. And of course it has an extra year JL warranty.

Thanks in advance for any comments.
Currys service put me off...would rather go JOHN LEWIS

I would say Lenovo is a better value, because as you just said 256gb ssd as well as 8th gen core i7 cpu instead of 128gb ssd and 8th gen i5. CPU's have a minimal difference, but honestly, I wouldn't pay that much for HP with those specs.

No point having FHD just to look at excel spreadsheets

Apart from being able to see more of the spreadsheet without scrolling. Or display all the data while using splitscreen.
