Great spec for price!

It's been this price for a while - believe it was posted before - good deal though...

A netbook with a slightly bigger screen than most. A reasonable deal I'd say.

think it was £199 before.

was £199 when i bought mine last week

Great keyboard on this BUT such a shame with the misplaced FN + Ctrl keys

Bought one Monday, delivered Wednesday. Great service and great netbook. Good speed and graphics and better spec than recent Ebay DOD. Overall very happy with service and product. Bullguard came free with 1 year x 3 pc licence that can cost up to £45 on its own.

I have been given a N280 CPU from a recent pull, i asume this netbook will take this CPU will i notice a performance boost going from single core to dual core, any feedback before i strip my S12

Exellent Notebook for the money. I bought at £199 but still the best deal to be found at £219 I think for a 12" Screen. The extra 2" from the more standard 10.1" makes a lot of difference in my opinion.
N270 Processor is the downside if you plan to do more complicated tasks but for everyday aplications I think it is fine.

Hi, Not really up with technology. Would this notebook be good for streaming football to an HD ready TV??

Good spec for the price bonus with the bigger screen also have some heat

I would imagine it's not quite powerful enough, you'd maybe want one of the lower end ideapad range?

I have an S10 at home, that doesn't so I wouldn't imagine the S12 does - which is a shame because it's one of my favourite things about Lenovo laptops.

I have mine listed on eBay at the moment for £174.99 and there doesn't seem to be too much interest.

Its a nice machine though, much better than a 10 inch Netbook

Hmmm having had a netbook with the N270 processor previously I wouldn't purchase one again, plus they came out in 2009. Would get something higher specced or wait for the AMD processor netbooks to come out.

I've been after a netbook with HDMI / HD capability. This netbook has the nVidia ION Chipset, so it should be fine for HD content. ION v1 appears to get better reviews than ION v2, but either should be able to do HD.

It's the same chipset used in Acer AspireRevo series - a popular device for connecting to your telly.

Tempted for the price to come back down to £199 before taking the plunge though.

Love this feature...

CPU is a bit of a letdown, but if you want something for just casual browsing or playing HD movies (will play 1080p MKV's), this'll do a treat.

Indeed. The network connection (no gigabit) is another big let down. But everything else looks quite nice, certainly the display is better than most. For casual surfing it should do just fine.

It all depends on what you want to do and what budget you have, i bought mine two weeks ago when they were £199. A netbook for sub £200 mark with a 12 inch display, the cpu isn't supercar speeds but it does the job if you dont have zillions of tabs and programs opened at the same time the CPU copes well, game play is not too bad along with video playback which is very good via HMDI.
If you want to give a slight boost use the OC tool

One of the nVidia Ion netbooks that can play some older 3D games with decent frame rates as well as provide smooth HD playback without the usual stutter. I have an HP Compaq 311c with a 11.6" screen and faster DDR3 RAM but a smaller hard drive which also has the Ion LE chipset and use it all the time. In fact my laptop never gets a look in now.

BBC iPlayer on atom CPUs isn't great. Even the ION based S12 is a let down, because iPlayer uses flash. But found a partial solution.

Installing XBMC and then the iPlayer plug-in means the ION GPU acceleration can be used. The only problem is that it only streams from the internet. So downloading first doesn't work unfortunately.
