We have the power in this laptop supplied by the Intel® Core™ i7-1065G7 (4 Core, 1.3 GHz, 8MB) CPU! 8 gigs of ram and a great 512 GB SSD. Having this combo under £500 is a good deal in my opinion.

Imagine putting together a computer with a 10th gen i7 and 512GB NVMe SSD then hobbling it with an HD screen

It's 2020 not 1990 c'mom. They're called Lenovo not IBM now 😁
Has to be cold based solely on the screen resolution. This belongs to history.

I suspect its dumped stock as Coronavirus is preventing new supplies of Lenovo laptops from China.

It's scary that my new work laptop, a new i7, has this screen res... I thought something was wrong with it at first

Crap batteries as well. Two previous lenovo laptops - 1st had to remove the battery and use just plugged in, 2nd battery failed after 10/11 months!
I will not be advising lenovo to anybody.

You were right, there is something wrong with it
Lenovo made a crime giving this that damn screen. Other than that my card was ready.

I am fine with the lower resolution on my work laptop - it is a small 13" screen mostly used for email, spreadsheets and presentations. For me, given the use, weight and battery life are more important.

15 inch for me.. have to connect to a monitor as everything is f*cking MASSIVE
What’s the build quality like? I’m after something at the price point. Screen not really a bother as I’ll be using it for work.
How is this so hot when the screen is utter trash
If only this had a better battery and ips 1080p screen😔
They are getting rid of old crap screens. Forget doing any photo video work or gaming. Maybe good for accounts and online stuff. So pointless.
There's 10% off for newsletter sign up. Not bad for £440, even with the screen res.

Unless all you want it for is accounts and online stuff?

In which case you can get something cheaper
I have this laptop. The battery is shocking. As for the shell, the slightest knock causes a piece of plastic to break off. I'm so disappointed with it

Not even for that. We do a lot of spreadsheet work in my business and a 1080p screen has the right amount of clarity and information available. I tried to work on the same sheets on an HP with only HD display and you basically have to zoom right out and the text is poorly rendered too, same for webpages. Honestly it hampers productivity too. There’s no place for it today unless it’s a really cheap netbook or laptop.

Exactly.
1.4? coma pc
I can understand 1366x768 on a cheapo laptop, but a laptop with an i7 and a crappy screen like this doesn't make much sense to me.
Quite expensive netbook.
Could anyone help me to find a good laptop with the following specs. My budget is £700

Under 1.2 KG
Metal and good built quality
512 SSD
8 GB RAMM (I would like to be able to upgrade the memory to 16GB later on)
1080P Display 13-14"
Over 8 Hours battery life

Thank you

But for gaming the fps would be better even though lower resolution.

Are you joking? Who is buying a machine with lacklustre integrated graphics for gaming? And even if you had a 1080p you can still run it at 720p... that’s not an excuse.
Maybe it's passable for gaming? For serious work though this is thoroughly unsuitable given the screen; with such a poor resolution you can barely see any code, or much of a spreadsheet.

It's a bizarre, and terrible configuration. Freezing cold; pretty much whatever the price.

Anyone serious about gaming on the cheap will buy a Ryzen 5 laptop with integrated Vega. Most of those come with 1080p panels too. The only time you buy an Intel laptop is if you don’t game, want the best battery life, need the fastest performance (in a laptop) or have a discrete GPU (if you do game).
I'm bemused this is hot and can only assume people will be leaving it plugged in and connected to an external screen.
Stupidly bad screen res

And?
why its even hot with outdated screen?
Thought this was finally the laptop for me until I saw the screen
All these complaints.. just connect an external screen.. I’ve a laptop for work that I’ve probably used no more than 5 times in 4 years without an external monitor/keyboard/mouse. Who wants to sit hunched over a small keyboard/screen? This looks like a great little laptop. Heat from me.
