If this had a touch screen, I'd have jumped on it, those specs are ace for that price... Heat!

If it had a 15 inch screen...

I know it's over £200 more but the Thinkpad s540 that is in this promotion seem a decent deal if your looking for a Touch screen 1080p with a 4th gen i5.

Looks as though the optional 8670 graphics are not in fact an option though if you try to configure it, unless "S540 AMD i5-4200u" actually means it does have it.

up to 2.6ghz, these cpus however run at about 1.3ghz

Nice price, if it only had a better battery life I would snap one up. Design, build, specs all look good though from the other deals i've seen on here.

Battery life at 5 hours seems mega low for a haswell. Wonder why?

The S540 is supposed to last upto 9 hours but your right the S410 is poor for a 4th generation i5.

ordered. thanks for the post

I'm not sure if its worth me putting this in another post, but if you want one of their none entry value laptops this is a good deal:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lenovo-IdeaPad-14-inch-Touchscreen-Laptop/dp/B00F93MB7I/

IdeaPad u410 Touch with 3rd Gen i7, touch-screen and a dedicated graphics card for £499.99. Its got very good reviews so I went for it. I couldn't bring myself to buy a laptop without reviews, no matter how good the price.

Their own description of it kills it :

The affordable alternative to the Ultrabook™ has arrived. The IdeaPad S410 Laptop is slim, light, comfortable to use, and reasonably priced. Great for web browsing, social networking, and basic productivity tasks, the S410 comes in multiple colors and boasts a long battery life.

Jesus, by the s540, I have the s440 bought for 600 pounds with student discount, build quality is absolutely immense. Keyboard to die for, if the s540 is much the same, you guys have a cracking deal.

The S540 I linked to is Touchscreen, but it's also over £200 more then the posted deal though it looks to be worth every penny. If only I could find a review of it.

Is the deal over? When I entered the code, I got 'Coupon not valid for current shopping cart'.

Not too bad for the price but 4GB RAM is low and the graphics card is pretty crappy. If you don't really plan to play any new games on it, I'd say it's a bargain.

Make sure you put the correct last letter of the code in, it changes depending on the colour you choose. Any reviews of this?

I just started again from scratch and this time it said 'Coupon is no longer available', perhaps it expired at 5pm? I was going for the brown one.

Strange- I can get the white one to work at checkout here.

Well, the code works but now saying out of stock!

Is this a deal or a change of price, because if its the later its good to see i5's coming down in price

I rang up to order, just in case the website was playing up, but was told all colours are OOS.

yeah the white one is not going through...

No its not, 600 pounds is for the non touch version, the touch version is 750 pounds

Trying to order but get this message:

We're sorry but IdeaPad S410P is currently out of stock and cannot be added to your basket. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Does this mean all OOS or still website having a fit?

I've been using this for a few months and wouldn't recommend this.
Very sluggish machine for an i5, tried resetting everything but very little difference then after a few days just became the same.
Contacted Lenovo, and they want me to send it back to them which I can't do without a replacement laptop, and need this daily.
Wouldn't buy another Lenovo again.

Are the Haswell U processors any good - don't look that powerful
(I'm not THAT bothered about extended battery time)

Can this S410 can play battlefield 4?
