Its got a better benchmark than a pentium dual core 1.8, with the addition of an 8hr battery. It wont be slow at all! cracking peice of kit. Similar pc's are over £500.

very good deal. but i already have my asus ul30 for £280 with 2 batteries.

Are you for real?

I regularly deal with Lenovo laptops through my work. Be warned, their build quality is awful.

Apologies for sounding rude, and don't take this the wrong way, but;

Either you're a troll, a complete idiot, or can't read. It says 'External' in the bracket of the Product you quoted -.-

would defo pay the extra for the acer timeline external drive or not.

Agreed

No need for that.

Description could have been worded better even if it does have 'external' in it.

Assuming you don't mean exactly 13.3" I would assume there are several.

Two that I know of persnally are the MBP & Sony Z series (great 1920x1080 screen available aswell) Obviously both are in a different price bracket to this machine

The only thing about the Acer is it’s an Acer, it’s all about opinions I know but an Acer nonetheless not the most rated manufacture out there in fact nearer the bottom end.

I would imagine I'm speaking for the majority of Hot Deals Readers in saying don't take this the wrong way but this is a typically needless rude comment from somebody hiding behind the anonymity of the Internet. You'd quite rightly get your lights punched out if you spoke to somebody like this in the real world.

Absolutely pathetic!

I bought it second hand with warranty left and it developed a small fault. CPW took 4 months to try fix it but failed and so they sent me a whole new unit and to apologise they gave me a brand new battery with it.

This Lenovo deal is very good IMO because it has 4GB, better CPU, 1.5MP camera, bluetooth, external USB DVDRW and good battery life too. Seems to me well worth the extra £70 but i don't know how the laptop quality compare with my Asus

Can't see word of it in the spec, but anyone know if this has HDMI out?

If it doesn't mention it, it's safe to assume that it doesn't have one.

HDMI is a pretty decent feature.

terrible customer service!

got a faulty one direct from lenovo (flickering freezing screen). they refused to believe it was originally faulty even though it was only after a few days. eventually collected it and have spent weeks saying theres nothing wrong.
they say they dont allow refunds but will replace it at some point... still waiting.

surely if only 2 days after purchase you must be allowed a refund? does anyone know of any specific legal stuff to quote?

It feels nice and solid overall but the keyboard looks a little plasticky to me.
Reg. the battery life, left it playing a long youtube playlist and it went flat in abt 3 hrs.

Its got an interesting feature- the ambient light sensor - It dims the monitor automatically if there is sufficient ambient light; Theoritically, that should help battery life.

You reckon it's to do with your unit or is the 8hr battery life innacurate?
Mate going for ultra portable: a 3hr battery life defeats the point.
