Haha. Either I don't understand the HUKD search function or it's a rubbish search function. Searched for Lenovo and couldn't see it?

Maybe people have had more to drink at this time of night hence the higher rating??!? ;D

Exactly why I didn't post this day before yeasterday! I got an email from camel camel and also checked JL to see the same reduction. This is the cheapest it's ever been I believe and its a great deal for that!

very tempting deal.

Great machine.
Wish it was 1080p and had more storage though.
Maybe next year.

Great deal - recently got the 256gb version and very happy with it. If you can afford the newer model it has a better resolution and backilt keyboard, but for this price the old version is a great deal

Very well set of balanced features for the price. Even better once updated to Windows 8.1 and the latest drivers installed, particularly the Wi-Fi driver which resolves connectivity issues some experienced.

Just stick in a 32 or 64GB SD card and you will have enough space for most users who appreciate a portable unit.

Got an i5 version myself; great lappy. Really easy to add in another (msata) ssd yourself (there is a spare bay).

Picked mine up yesterday and delighted with it. Had a samsung series 7, but it had an intermittent sound problem so took it back and exchanged for this. The unit is very versatile. I'd agree that the memory is a bit small, but linked to an external drive to backup and you'll be fine. I'd highly recommend.

Cant alter the graphics presumably

Good price

Very nice device and if needed you can always upgrade the SSD later on.

good price for specs and like that it can be used as a tablet as well (hope the hinges are very strong though).

I think I'd rather spend a bit more cash on the Yoga 2 Pro, a significant upgrade to this model. Trouble is, can't find it in stock anywhere at the moment. This is probably still a good deal though if you don;t mind it being an older model.

This or macbook pro ,for 175 quid more

The above review is by Nate Swanner, a Apple fanboy, read the many many other fantastic reviews:

engadget.com/201…ew/

very convincing, swapped a Macbook pro for this and never looked back...

Anyone want to like this deal and get it to 100... I'm probably breaking rules asking this, but, it's Christmas...! ;D hotukdeals.com/dea…579

I'm in the same boat, would love the Yoga 2 but can't find it. I have the model in this post (but in orange) and love it. The only thing I really hate on it is the lack of a backlit keyboard or LED (I've had lots of thinkpads in my time and love the keyboard LED).

saw a yoga 2 for £999.95 but it's only a i5 core!

I popped into John Lewis in Brent Cross to have a look. No doubt it's a nice machine, however it has several flaws which have put me off. The first and most critical is the lightweight screen which rocks back and forth when you touch the screen. Secondly the display model was already looking pretty shabby with peeling paint and abrasions on the front edge (where it was stood up in tent mode). I can imagine that after a year it will look like crap. Finally it is completely impractical to use in tablet mode, it just feels wrong to hold such a big, unwieldy thing like an iPad. I think the 11" model probably has the better factor. They also had a Yoga 2 in store and that felt a lot better.

I can't decide between this fantastic deal, the Toshiba z10t for £100 less, or to wait for the HP Spectre X2.
Its a shame the HP Split X2 has a crap screen resolution, or it would be brilliant.

johnlewis.com/tos…ump
The Toshiba has a worse processor, but i7 is probably overkill anyway. However tz10t has got a better screen resolution than the Yoga and the keyboard is detachable. I can't decide if the poor tilt angle of the Toshiba in laptop mode, or having the keyboard of the Yoga in tablet mode is worse.
The toshiba is also smaller, but will most likely have worse battery life.

If you bought a Lenovo laptop and are thinking of extending the warranty there is currently a 25% off offer...

Lenovo Warranty Extension offer.

Is the specs of this laptop able to play up to date games?

Really tempted by this deal but I'm afraid my recent experience of John Lewis's poor customer service has put me off. My advice is check for stock in-store before ordering off johnlewis.com as the website side of the operation is now its weakest link.

BTW the orange version of this laptop is now out of stock.

Was it the wii U?

MikeLondon

Was it the wii U?

No, Dyson DC25 this weekend and iPad Mini Retina prior to Christmas.

Purchased!

4th gen i5, will have a better GPU. I would probably go for the i5. Can't stretch to 1K.

Purchased!

Nice one Mike Sorted out the DC25 with JL CS, thought I would be cheeky and got them to reserve the Yoga for me in store at the same time and paid over the phone; picked both up at tea time

the i7 is dual core but clocked at 2.0 GHs so not bad sped but speed doesn't matter the number of cores does !!!!!

Got my yoga, 1st one had dirt under the screen, exchanged for another and it is fine. Seems great so far, had a look at the yoga 2 and although it is better I don't think I am going to miss the difference.

Out of stock

Back in stock for £799.99. Doesn't quite have the same sheen when you know they've sold it so recently for £100 cheaper though!

I got mine from John Lewis at the 699 price - initially I'd skipped past it as being a higher price than other places, but hadn't realised about the upgrades. I thought it was worth the extra £70 for the processor, RAM and warranty upgrades compared to Amazon - plus it could be returned to a nearby shop and the sale is going to a UK business! As a machine it works very well - I use it in both laptop and tablet modes. I agree that it is heavy for a tablet, but rest it on a lap or chair arm and it's great. Sure the improved screen in the Yoga 2 would have been nice, but not worth the extra £300 for me. I'll add that when I tried to buy it was out of stock on line, but I found it by ringing around nearby branches.

Thanks for posting this!

Now it's £999.95. Crazy!!! Ad I didn't even buy it. Just for the feeling of a £300 bargain it's probably worth a purchase ;D
