Just been watching a video on You tube yes are not so easy just to upgrade the RAM or change the HDD. But for me thats do able, not that I see any reason yet. 8GB Ram is good enough for my uses and the video editing I want to do. I will game on this too ok not on max setting but have a gaming PC already.
Great Buy
You want to choice the option on the right hand side, More Buying Options and pick from Amazon its self. They will then place an order as its out of stock, and expect delivery soon or in couple of weeks.
I see it now. Thanks.
If you are talking about This then its not same. Processor is 3632QM with 2.2 GHz rather then 2.4 on amazon.
It looks a bit more difficult to upgrade than on a Y570/580 etc but it's not too difficult. youtube.com/wat…96c
Yeah it's about ~10% slower. Weaker prev gen gpu too.
you got me confused now...isnt the 3632 processor more recent so should be better performing? please excuse my ignorance
Think this amazon is actually the newer chip, but benchmarks show the one being sold on Amazon is about 10% faster. The PC world one would use a little less power as its a less powerful chip (but if it takes longer to get job done while you wait guess the screen will eat more power while you watch the hour glass spin). If where buying the chips separate the amazon chip appears to cost about $30 more. The graphics card is a generation later and for me as am going to game some looking at benchmarks for games that matters for me as allows game on a little higher settings and gives more frames per second. I still think its a great buy.
You won't notice any speed difference in everyday usage, main difference being 3632 will run slightly cooler and it's soldered to the MB.
Unlikely.
Both chips cost the same from Intel, but the 3630 is faster. The chances are they're both the same silicon, just at different clocks. The PCW one still has the disadvantage of having a much weaker gpu.
See the package:ark.intel.com/pro…670, it says BGA1224.
It comes in PGA too. ark.intel.com/pro…PGA
Thanks X)
What would you be using it for?
What's wrong with laptop manufacturers nowadays? This is a great spec for the price, why skimp on the display when it probably makes a pretty small price difference for the manufacturer?
Because they're idiots.
Good job gimping a great spec'd machine.
I am not a professional. I will say MacBook pro for long term performance. I am saying from my experience in using work PC which is windows 8 and Macbook Pro personal use. Windows PC get overheat, more startup time and give less battery back up compared to MacBook.
Pretty sure I said similar and not the same
Take it to a decent PC shop, it shouldn't cost too much to replace. I like Macs, however the price of them is a bit ridiculous. Ignore that this has a touchscreen, Windows 8 is more than usable with touch gestures from the touchpad, who really wants to be reaching out to the touchscreen all the time. I use Windows 8 and 99% of the time, I'm using the desktop and I DON'T need a start menu! Who uses the start menu to run programs nowadays anyway. Windows 8 has a vastly superior way of finding all your apps and settings, just by going to the modern interface with one button press and start typing. Windows 8 has some horrible design flaws and stupidity, but MS will sort it out eventually.
But you could already do that with the start menu, and it didn't take up the whole screen doing it. Don't get me wrong though, I use Windows 8 every day and it works brilliantly, but I find the start menu much more practical to metro.
They're actually a lot better quality than they used to be. Not Asus/Apple level, but better than Acer, Toshiba etc.
I'm confused.
There was a couple of months between the 7xx series release and the Haswell release.
It's a pretty potent cpu, the equivalent Haswell isn't much faster.
Cold.
