£500 is a lot for those specs. HD tn panel? No thanks.
Garbage screen, avoid.

its an S145

Lenovo/Digital River Customer service is BAD....read the reviews
Horrendous company to deal with. Avoid Lenovo at all costs if you value sanity. Worst company by a long shot. Totally useless at trying to resolve any issues. Just look at Trust Pilot reviews and their own forums

I have read many bad reviews about it but in my case the service is ok. Ordered a Lenovo laptop based on a good reviews on the 26th of December and I will receive it tomorrow. DHL is going to deliver it. I have sent 2 emails to Lenovo and less than half day I have received an answer. Quick. Hopefully I will not have problem with the delivery and the laptop itself.
extra 10% off if you register with them.
Very deceptive that the poor screen is not mentioned anywhere - the tech specs state "DisplayUp to 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080, 220 nits), 45% color gamut" which is very misleading - it should state the actual specs of the machine.
Windows home s plus on an i7

some laptops make no sence.

Have to agree with this - after having multiple issues with one of their laptops and with a tablet.
Can't speak of the issues with Lenovo but the spec is great for the price, the Intel i7-1065G7 chipset is SUPERB for that price. Matches or exceeds the Vega 8 graphics in the well regarded AMD Ryzen 3500u chipset, but blows that chipset out of the water on processor performance

It says 8th gen CPU.. not the 10th, poor screen
You can upgrade for free

If you are not a hardcore user these specs are good enough for average person.

I wonder where they dug up a '0.3Mp Camera with single mic' in 2019/2020. I have not seen anything below 1MP/720p in years.

It is like they took away modern parts and replaced them with 5 year old ones to hit a price point.

It's almost like they built these to use up parts they had laying around in their warehouse.

I'm struggling to see a use case for this laptop, it isn't going to be playing many games, and if you just wanted something for basic word processing / web browsing you could get something cheaper.
Why have they given it decent other parts and paired it up with the worst, cheapest screen they could find?

Arr it’s so frustrating to see such a very good processor with such a poor screen.

I don't really take note of Trustpilot.

I mean, look at HP and Dell on there too.

Lenovo does have notorious bad customer support. Dell and HP are good, especially if you have business on-site warranty.

Lenovo was up to last year very good then their customer service ratings dropped like a lead balloon. Not sure if they’re going to do about it. To be fair most big companies will have highs and lows on their CS.

Which the majority of consumer users won't have!
I wouldn't buy a laptop with screen less than Full HD. I have 13" 1366x768 screen everything look massive. It's good if you are buying for elderly etc

It shouldn’t exist on a 15.6” laptop costing this much, full stop. You can enable scaling with a higher res panel, this is forever bad.
720p on a £500 machine is a joke. Cold.
When you reach 40, in most people presbyopia starts to kick off, & by 50 almost everyone has it.

To those who found themselves needing reading glasses, will a 1366x768 TN Screen really be so bad?

I suspect its going to be like the "everyone need a an i7" lot who crop up frequently on here.
Even with better specs, its useless to buy a low, TN resolution screen.

Both laptop and tablet would at times fail to turn on, if you are abroad at the time and security want to check it you have a serious problem. Laptop had another problem where customer services eventually told me to wipe the laptop to correct a software problem - but it was a lot of grief getting them to admit it was their issue. Then the adapter failed, then the touchpad, now some of the keys are failing.

pull the screen out and stick an ips in £30

decent spec that for 450
"Windows 10 Home S Plus" Didn't know there was an "S Plus" Great CPU and PCIe drive then it goes downhill.
