I spotted this Lenovo G50 laptop on Tesco's site. It has Intel Core i3 processor, with 4Gb memory and 500Gb Hard Drive @ £229. With a voucher code you can get it down to £209 and club card boost in it. This laptop can also be updated to Windows 10 when you get it from what I understand..

The price for this specification is a steal.

Get an extra £20 off with code TDX-LKJ3. Price = £209

agreed winchman!

Absolute steal for a core i3, plus upgrade to windows 10.

Any hdmi with this?

Original Poster

Not sure, but wouldn't think so at this price.

hdmi, vga port, ethernet port, usb 3.0, card reader, dvd drive

Cheers bendickens....that's cleared it up :-)

Looks very good for the price!

Heat added

I only had this same laptop for 3 weeks before the button on the track pad become stuck in permanently. Maybe I just got unlucky, but I won't be ordering a cheap Lenovo again anytime soon.
Good price for the spec though. Heat added.

heat given, great price.

Can you play most (all but the very latest) games on this with reasonable frame rates/resolution? Or would it be a dog?

Does anyone know what the graphics card is on this? Much appreciated

very easy to upgrade, undo 3 screws on the base and slide the panel off, gives access to the ram (1 spare slot) the hard drive and the fan. the online user guide gives basic instructions on changing/upgrading and also tells you how to change the keyboard if needed. i upgraded the ram to 8gb and find it starts up very fast compared to my previous laptop. im not considering an ssd whilst it loads up so fast. would advise to buy and use and then decide!

No there isn't. You aren't going to get "proper" discrete graphics on a laptop at this price range! This laptop won't handle modern demanding games even on the lowest settings

Scroll down to see the game benchmarks, it isn't pretty notebookcheck.net/Int…tml

It's easy to install an SSD, but remember you've got to transfer/re-install Windows. That's much more hassle than playing with a few screws.

3.2kg Is that not really heavy for a modern day 15'' laptop?

I think you can click and collect from Tesco and get it tomorrow from your local store of choice. It's cheaper @ £219 after the Tesco discount code and save £20 to cover the beer for the bank holiday BBQ :-).
