I've been looking around for a 27 incher (ha!) and I spotted this. The thin 2mm bezels attracted me to this sleek beauty and I fell for her virtual charms. £179 on Amazon currently:amazon.co.uk/Len…SHC
The full connectivity of HDMI/VGA/DisplayPort made me swoon and the advertised response time of 4 ms brought to mind sweet console gaming heaven.
Usually around £30 to £40 more expensive, this Currys "Black Tag" deal seduced me and I bought this plus a NestCam for a further £149 (bought on ebay rather than Currys) and elected to pay for these lovelies at a cost of around £11 over 24 months IFC. What - putting Xmas on credit, I hear some Nay Sayers screech. Why yes indeed, my hearties - I have to give back to retailers too.

I did look at a ton of others - some with silvery bases but I based my choice on the connectivity and response time.

I have the aformentioned monitor and have no issue with 1080p screen on a 27'', I guess if you went from a 4K to a 1080p it would bug you but I only ever watch 4k on my TV downstairs

that was the main reason why I decided immediately to switch 1080p Dell 27 inch to 27 inch WQHD.
decision was made same day, good luck with your eyes/vision long term bro if sitting to close to monitor.
if this is a consol screen and you will be sitting much further away than usual - no prob, otherwise I'd not recommend.

Probably because you've gone partially blind.
It's not healthy for your eyes man. Flicker and pixels - your eyelids will start to twitch.
Just ordered one, will report back but it's certainly the nicest looking 27" monitor I've seen under 150

My point is, no you cannot see pixels on a 27inch right infront of you. I don't sit 2 inches infront of them, but I've in fact had a look many times, and no, you're not going to feel like you're playing Minecraft when you're playing Assassins Creed, which is what people suggest as 1080p isn't "cool" Anymore.

I know, I'm only joshing.

I purchased the Lenovo L24q-10 - 23.8" Quad HD IPS this morning. It lacks a VESA mount, but it matches laptop's screen res.

I'm thinking have I done the right thing...
Do you have / planning to get the LENOVO L27i-28, in which case, can you confirm the material the stand is made from?

I've seen these in Scan and I am popping in tomorrow. I'm guessing it's plastic same as most stands in this price range. I can try and confirm tomorrow

Reports and reviews online about that screen states otherwise.
Blurry screen
Lack of sharpness and quality

You name it.
This is how much this screen is worth.
That thin bezel makes the monitor look amazing!

I remember surviving with 20 inch SVGA CRT monitors for years at office before LCDs came out. That had 768 horizontal lines. You could literally count the pixels on each Windows icon if you had the time.
Long term vision still fine.

They're both as bright as this Lenovo.

Lenovo specs: displayspecifications.com/en/…483
HP specs: displayspecifications.com/en/…03b
Acer not listed and not sure if it's LED backlight like the other two.

HP has fewer inputs (HDMI & vGA - vs Acer's DVI, d-Sub, HDMI, VGA) do you need them to hook up to your rig?
Acer claims to have built in speakers.
Lenovo has VESA mount and 1ms better response time than the HP.

If it were me - for a simple desk monitor, I'd compare between the Acer & Lenovo on fit and finish. If you need the inputs - Acer. If you want to mount to a wall or a monitor arm - the Lenovo.

Otherwise, take a look at Dell's 27" Monitor: SE2717H for similar price point. dell.com/en-…ies Has HDMI & VGA inputs and slightly brighter at 300 cd/m2
or Dell 27 Monitor: SE2719H @ £20 more for slightly crisper looking design, narrower bezels. 3 year warranty on the cheaper Dell but 1year on the SE2719H. Part of a thing they call Advanced Exchange Service which in English I guess means WARRANTY.

This looks like a decent value panel at the price. Just beware of the bezel - as with most panels claiming a couple of mm bezel, this has a disguised “internal” bezel that is much thicker. Still a great looking panel, but I’m not a fan of how they pretty much photoshop the internal bezel out. In reality this is what you’re getting:

It’s from a review of the Lenovo L27i. It’s very common for the marketing images to be disguised or flat out doctored to hide the internal bezel. Here’s the other side:

Not knocking this specific monitor btw, I’ve given it heat. Just trying to save any disappointment when you don’t get exactly what you’re expecting.

Marketing and their photoshop trickery.

You wanna see bezels?

36244856-m3R1v.jpg

Now that's a bezel even a parent couldn't love.

Today it's bezel-less, yesteryear it was screen-less.
