All-day battery life, smart power management, and a slim adaptor that charges the battery from 0-50% in less than 30 minutes ready you for long sessions on the go. Hybrid Mode directs graphical power to the display through the GPU for improved battery life. And Q Control 3.0 allows for Quiet Mode, reducing your CPU’s voltage requirement when you don’t need maximum power.

With Costco you get excellent customer service and two year warranty. This is the better deal than Curry's even with additional Costco membership cost.

Picked this up yesterday. Just to make you aware, the fan on this thing is constant, even if you put into quiet mode, open up a browser whoosh, play a graphics heavy game, eg cyberpunk, this jet takes off.

Checked many reviews and Reddit threads, apparently it’s the cooling system design that creates this constant sound.

What if you disable the dedicated graphics card when not needed?

That's interesting. Even with Hybrid graphics on as well? I have the L5 Pro, I just assumed the cooling experience would be the same with the regular Legion.

Check the Radeon drivers are installed, in my Legion 5 last gen (4800h + 2060), it was running the 2060 constantly and the battery was pants. Once I installed the Radeon drivers again it worked on the integrated for general computing, but then very occasionally had the opposite issue of running Radeon when actually wanting to game on the 2060

Came on to post this deal lol. I bought it back in January at full price and have been waiting to see if it would go on offer. I've just submitted a price adjustment for it 😁

Haha another way to look at that is only £5 to avoid Curry’s

Did you try a laptop cooling pad? They’ve always worked wonders for me, especially with noise as the laptops internal fans need to spin up less

Throttlestop does not work with AMD devices. Purely intel only.

Very tempting, but not much of an upgrade from a mobile 2070.

The Currys one is also the 15.6 inch screen, whereas the Costco one is the 17.3 inch.

I would say are comparable screens just different resolutions.
Just to put it into context, I upgraded from my full hd 27" monitor to 27" qhd monitor and regret going qhd. Using windows resolution natively, everything is small, always have to zoom in when doing team call presentations . I prefer the full hd resolution and go with recommended and don't want to mess about with different resolutions and scaling, but that is me

Do you mean the L5 Pro or 7? AFAIK there isn’t a QHD display available for the Legion 5 17”. This one is 300nits, 72% NTSC, 144hz and 1080p. That’s pretty decent, especially for the money on a 3070. The 7 and L5 pro with the QHD display are around £400 more with the 3070.

You would have be crazy to compare Currys with Costco. I would happily pay a £100 more to have Costco's excellent CS compared to Currys non existent CS.

2.4kg? It can't be more lightweight than the 15/16" other Legions, please somebody tell me the correct weight, because I have always excluded any 17"ers due to being heavier than 2.5kg and for average quality of the screen. But for a 17" if lightweight I could accept a 300nits screen..
  21. Avatar
It's a good deal if you want the 17" screen but the equivalent 15" has a better screen with gsync.
