How have you arrived at this price? The price on the Lenovo website for this model is £1,578.99! The other 2 Legion Y540's are i5-9300H processors!
You would think that on a new i7 9th Gen laptop they would have a better battery than 52.5Wh, more than just 3 USB 3.1 ports, and Gen 1 at that, plus no SD card Slot.
You can get a new i7 9th Gen Dell G7 for roughly the same price!

I won't be purchasing this laptop given that it is Lenovo and I have had recent poor customer service regarding my Motorola mobile, which is Lenovo.

Don't expect any better customer service from Dell, my experience with them was diabolical. Tried to cut my warranty to 9 months and rather than repair my laptop when the case came apart (loose and missing screws) they just accused me of dropping it and cut contact.

You need to choose the i5 model with the 1660Ti and upgrade to the i7 and remove the operating system in the options: lenovo.com/gb/…ize

Out of interest why would you want more than 3 usb sockets on a laptop?

As mentioned before you select the i5 9300H 1660ti model and customise. The USB-C plus a dongle will fix the issue of more USB-A ports and SD card reader.

This is a much better deal than the Dell IMO. I have never had any issues with Lenovo which includes business support as my current job and last both had Lenovo.

I was talking with a Lenovo engineer yesterday as he was fixing one of our Teams units touch screen and his team are actually taking on supporting the Legion machines which means better quality of engineers

USB Mouse, USB Portable Hard Drive, USB External Blu Ray/DVD Drive (Because I still use discs), USB lead to connect a camera, USB port to charge my mobile or transfer data to my laptop. Yes, I have had all 4 USB ports on my laptop occupied at the same time several times. The more ports the better, and this Legion doesn't even have a Thunderbolt port. What a crime!

You’ve just listed peripherals not a scenario, although if your using a laptop as your main station it’s understandable to need more connectivity.
Personally all all I need is a gigabit NIC and 2 x USB 2.0 for my needs.

Yes, I only have a laptop and no desktop.
This isn't getting the credit or heat it deserves.

For me, the better deal is the i5 9300H & RTX 2060 for £962.87. There are NO deals at the minute that touch that price for a 2060 (Removing windows and platter drive) . I'm very happy for someone to show me one!

I think I'll bite! Thanks OP!

Great price. Let me give it a try. Thanks.
I took the OS out and used the savings to get the 1tb ssd
who needs an OS... *cough*
It just happened I was looking on their website to upgrade my current Y510p. After 4 year is still going and no problems at all. My prev Dell drove me crazy with overheating and freeze problems.

With 15% this came down to £1205. I'm so tempted ..

Personally I would drop the extra 8GB DDR4 (£80.58 after discount saved) and the 1TB spinning HDD (£58.14 after discount saved) and buy seperate.

Buy the below for example. 8GB DDR4 2666MHz £32.39 and a 1TB SSD £88.99.

£138.72 saved and £121.38 spent with £17.34 left to buy the Mrs flowers and you get an extra SSD instead of a crappy spinner

You're right the code is no longer valid. If you trick the website to think you are closing it (you might need to clear your cookies) it should off you a 10% off code valid for 30 days if you sign up to the news letter
just managed to build one with i7, 16 gb ram, 144hz screen, no hdd, no OS and 2060 for £1,093.17, using the corporate perks and 10% sign up bonus codes altogether... sooo tempting....

However, I am still trying to catch the Y740 15'model with 2070 and gsync, - should be slightly more future proof probably, slightly better performance.. but for much higher price.. but out of stock now
but looks like I will stick with the Y540 and 2060 version for just over a grand. imho 2060 is a bit better than 1660ti as it still will give your slight FPS improvement.
looks like a superb deal! heat added

sorry, but what does it mean? Good or bad? (english is not my native language)
if you want to say that this is bad deal... you should probably look at the hardware. there is no need to pay full price for windows, when cheap alternatives are there

I get the 10% off with Corporate discount perk - not accessible for the outsiders I presume + stacking up the 10% off as the newsletter bonus. so effectively, it is 20% off
then, I selected no HDD and Free-DOS. those two bits actually save you like 200£+ (windows licence on ebay is 5£)
on top of that, I missed the -15% off for all Legion machines last week we had in our corporate perk store - feel gutted now!!!

patience young padawan There should be more discounts. Additionally, in your case, I would consider to check the options to get it shipped from states (sometimes amazon sells those) - in some cases you can get machines really much cheaper, even with all import duties included. Only difference, you'd have to use wall plug adapter and would lose "£" symbol on keyboard (and other layout for "@". but then again, these things never bothered me anyway if I can save a fortune
