The black one is currently heavily discounted so it's a pretty good deal considering that on this price point you can only buy Dogee, Landvo and other savage brands like that.
Only 1 gig of RAM so definitely so kids or a second phone but again plenty of phone at that price.

Main features:
5 inch IPS 1280 x 720 LCD
Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
Android 4.4 Kitkat
1GB RAM + 16GB ROM
Back camera 8.0MP, front camera 2.0MP
Dual micro SIM cards, dual standby
Networking:
2G: GSM 900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100MHz

Not reflecting on the deal, but it's not 16GB ROM, it's Storage Space.

Doesn't look like a bad little phone for the price.

Hmmm, seems a bit overpriced for the low spec

lemon.

It really isn't. Even "memory" would be technically wrong but much more acceptable. But anyway, often thought about getting one of these when it was modernish. Now it's not very appealing at all, apart from the yellow (takes all sorts eh)

Alright, it's the accepted shorthand then.

I had the K3 note 2GB ram. Nice phone for the money, loved the yellow. Always got asked about it.

I got the Geotel Note 4G today from Gearbest for £59 using code HNOTE4G. It's Android 6, 3GB/16GB memory, HD TrueView display, dual SIM with separate card slot, Quad core CPU. Good reviews online and comes with case and screen protector. A good alternative to this.

How are you getting this for £59, its £71 on website and when I am applying coupon it comes as £87?

Runs out of juice fairly quickly!

It really isn't or shouldn't be. It's 'storage' or 'capacity' and is probably just as annoying to technically competent people as things like people saying 'pacifically' instead of 'specifically' to the rest of us.

But whether you (or Dealmessiah, or colourpie) like it or not, that is the - somewhat out dated - convention that has stuck in some cases, to differentiate the built in storage from RAM.

Anyway, the OP has only copied the specs that Gearbest has used themselves anyway.

I bought something from gearbest before, then a month later they tell me actually they don't have it and they'll refund the money as credit unless I tell them otherwise.

I wouldn't really want to bother using them again

Why are people arguing over the correct term for internal storage?

Honestly, hukd will bicker over the slightest thing and blow it out of proportion

1gb ram and KitKat? how is this not cold?

In the bad old days it used to be easy to differentiate between memory and storage. Basically memory was chips and storage a magnetic disk/tape of some sort spinning around with capacity and read/write speeds that a modern day user would weep at.

Now memory and storage can both be chips, as is the case of this phone. So the big differential is the volatility of both. I.e what happens when the power is disconnected? Thus memory loses it's contents and storage doesn't.
In any case the term ROM in the description is wrong as any storage that is Read Only would be as much use as a chocolate tea pot.

What's wrong with you guys? If you want a full spec sheet to go pdadb, that's just a quickie. Oh sorry, there's probably no such word but you get the point.

most app devs will drop support for 4.4 soon....

Because we're bored and browsing HUKD to waste time and spend money on stuff we don't need. Isn't that why everyone's here?

Price.
Although 1GB RAM is low-range nowadays, it's still usable and the processor isn't exactly stone-age.

As for the old OS, well you can't expect much support for a phone like this. It might even improve the performance.

It's about as good as it gets at that price, unless you go for a used phone, though I'm happy to be corrected.

Slated by the users of hotukdeals as they don't deliver the mobile phones or they turn up broken. My point is the company have a bad rep on here

In the really old days, it was "core store" and "backing store" (according to the history books)

They're all "memory" chips. Non-volatile memory is used for secondary "storage"...

(I'll go back to my sandwich...)

Well in that sense the name EPROM is totally bonkers. EPROM = "Erasable programmable read-only memory"... now is it read-only? or erasable and rewritable? Used to be used on motherboards for the BIOS.

I wouldn't get hung up on these subtleties. We all know what was meant.
