Decent big tablet from lenovo

3534752.jpg
  • Android 9.0 Pie installed - adapts to personal use
  • Full HD+ screen - suberb, brilliantly clear images
  • 32GB of storage with up to 9 hours of battery life
  • Rear camera - 8 megapixel for superb quality photos
  • Facial recognition technology offers extra security

Stay entertained throughout the day with this Lenovo Tab M10 Plus. It runs on the latest Android operating system, which adapts all kinds of settings, like the screen brightness and battery, to how you use it. Whether you’re on a plane, or your commute, the 10.3-inch Full HD display will make films and shows look amazing – perfect at distracting you from a loud conversation, or an annoying snorer behind you. With 9 hours battery, you won’t have to worry about it running out f charge on long journeys, while the 32GB of storage gives you space to download your favourite apps. Along the way you can have some fun taking snaps with the 8MP camera. Plus, it comes with facial recognition, so only you can unlock the tablet and access all your personal info.

That's the problem with modern tablets, they don't get hot enough like they used to.

Looks very good for the price albeit no Netflix in HD. I would rarely use it for that so I'm not writing it off. I might still go for the Samsung but this is clearly cheaper and otherwise very capable.

Wonder how long companies can get away with saying 'latest version of android' when it's clearly not

Standard on most tablets sub 200. Got no idea why as you can get phones with much higher spec for that. It's only a case of a bigger screen and battery

Best to go for the 4Gb/64Gb model for another 50 quid...

Why don't they support their devices with proper updates? Lenovo would be so much more well regarded if they did so. That's the main thing that has stopped me from buying one of their tablets to date.
Mr Switch, can u advise on a tablet with a sim card slot, that is decent, reliable & cheapish. Dont have to be a top brand... Thanking u
I bought the 3Gb one in February of this year but returned it. The Wi-Fi kept dropping out and I was losing connection. I read somewhere this is a common problem.

Most tablets these days come out with an LTE version, the s5e is a good choice
I nearly pressed buy now even I don't need it. Was under the impression the Plus version comes with 4GB RAM only, clearly not the case. I voted hot anyway, not bad.

There are plenty of sub 200 tablets with >2GB of RAM, there will be other limiting factors.

I had a P3 phone. Best phone I've had from the period it was purchased, regarding battery life and screen. No official updates whatsoever. In fact the only reason I had to buy a new phone was the OS became outdated.
I bought two of these Lenovo tablets in June and can say that they are amazing in performance, looks and build. We've had no problems with either of them.

Oh, forgot to say they were the 4GB, 64GB model and the price has gone up now. Got decent magnetic closing cases for around £8 as well from Amazon.
We have used Microsoft Office apps, Ms Teams, Youtube so far without any problems.

Cheers for your info. and the previous post. I may look again. Not sure what I need one for, something a bit bigger than my phone I suppose.

Does it have a glide type keyboard? I find it a godsend on my phone.

I had to Google "glide typing" to see what that meant! I see that GBoard has that facility.
However, my whole family pretty much touch type and are happy with that so not sure whether the tablets have that facility or not already in-built.
If they don't have it inbuilt (sorry can't check for you now but could do so sometime tomorrow) , I'm sure you could just download and install a keyboard that has that facility. HTH!
I would really avoid Lenovo as they don't provide updates.

I can confirm that it comes with a glide type keyboard installed i.e. you can "type" words without having to lift your finger. I tried it myself and I am not sure which way I prefer. :/

Thanks very much. I find it superb on a phone but I suppose it's a lot more distance required in a tablet

I'm still a bit unsure on whether to buy at all. I've gone through the incremental price/spec upgrading from the one in this deal (2/32GB) past 4/64GB, Samsung, Samsung, Samsung up to S6 then did a little wet trump at S7. Then figured what do I want one for anyway? Standard HUKD
The 4GB, 64GB version of this tablet is now available for £129.99 at John Lewis (https://www.johnlewis.com/lenovo-tab-m10-plus-za5t0242gb-tablet-android-4gb-ram-64gb-emmc-10-3-inch-full-hd-iron-grey/p5073217). It should come with a decent guarantee also.
Surpringly, only a one year guarantee is available from JL. But most JL reviews say they honour their guarantees pretty well. I think Costco gave a two year guarantee (their guarantees on TVs are usually 5 years, I believe).
Also available on Amazon now but wait times are not good...

Wow! That's good news.
It still says expected delivery in 1-2 months. Unfortunately, the price has already gone back up to £179.99. Good that you got it when you did! I hope you like the tablet as much as my children do!
