I can never get direct links to Very products to work. Anyone know why that might be?
Edited by: "heathergreen1" 26th Apr 2015

Just so you know, the problematic URL issue is not your fault. It is down to the HUKD affiliate link process. They amend your URL to one that generates them click through money. It works on some websites, and breaks the links to others.

I have already benefitted from your IQ (or your shopping savvy). My mum received her new Medion laptop for her birthday today. She is v.v.happy with it, & thought I was being super generous (it looks far more expensive than £206 !).

So thank you for that.

That's really kind of you to say so. To be honest, that's the only reason I share deals: I really get a kick out of people saving their hard earned wonga. Glad your mum was such a happy beneficiary!

Yep, she was. Her current laptop has an awful keyboard, a tiny (/useless) touchpad, a graphics chip that won't process 1080p videos, and woeful speakers (I get more volume out of my over ear headphones!)

£206 has me a superbly built laptop, some brilliantly loud speakers, a graphics chip that plays 4K videos without stutter, a superb keyboard and touchpad, & a reversing 1080P/IPS screen for tablet mode :). I reckon it was probably my best purchase of the year...and there's no way I'd have discovered it without your post!
I just need to get a capacious SSD drive now (which will likely cost almost 2/3 the price of the laptop itself !)

Highly concerning returns policy! I really don't think this is legal. Sounds like the BS Scan tried to pull on me. Using the "broke the seal" clauses of the law.
"Non returnable under our Approval Guarantee, once installed or connected."

Very are an incarnation/minion of Littlewoods I believe, who are a pretty shoddy company.

I've never had any problems returning clothes to Very. Never bought tech from them though. Seems odd if they can actually deny returns though. Don't know much about the law but what about the 7 day returns thing that applies to most products? Or is that only if unopened and sealed?

Assuming it's the same scam Scan tried on me, there's one exception to the DSR return policy (it's actually 14 days I believe), where if it's software and you "break the seal", then you can't return it. (because you could copy it). And now it appears some companys are saying the OS on the laptop is the software, and are arbitrarily deciding to classify "turning it on" with "breaking the seal". And then will try to deny you returning a laptop because you briefly used £50 of software. Which would really suck if the laptop was £1000 and one you really didn't want. I seriously doubt any small claims court would agree with their interpretation, and I would suggest anyone who faces this problem to go straight to Small Claims (£25 fee, refundable on victory).

Ah I see, well thanks for the info pal. Almost used Scan when buying pc parts but I've heard nothing but bad things about them. Amazes me sometimes, the lengths companies will go to to shake people for their hard earned money. Need to have another read of trading laws, best thing in these situations is to know your rights etc. As you mentioned, can't see it holding up against someone who is persistent, just feel sorry for those that don't have a clue and just go along with what the company tells them.

Now to try and find some reviews for it. On youtube and most places I can only see reviews of the miix 2 that looks like this, searching miix 3 seems to be for a different tablet, but then reviews for the miix 2 dont apply as apparently that has a 1080p screen. Only review of this I could find was from a kid that looked about 10 haha. Already got an Asus X205 and iPad mini for general consumption but I'd like a larger touchscreen tablet and this would fit the bill. Love Lenovo's design for their laptops as well.
If anyone manages to find a good in-depth review, please let me know.

Doesn't this tablet actually have a full HD 1920 x 1200 screen? At least, according to all the specs I've seen elsewhere.

If true, that perhaps makes it a bit more interesting, and would be a reason to consider this over the cheaper Linx 10 which is otherwise similar spec.

By all accounts there's a really good chance this is actually HD, but I didn't put it in the description because I can't be absolutely certain.

I remember looking at this when it was on offer at John Lewis. They were adversing it as HD it was not they changed the specs on their site. From memory there ARE HD model but they are sold in Germany only the UK models are not Full HD.

The only ones I could find were for the HD model by a German reviewer of a German model (HD). Its odd this class of PC should be really well covered but there are only a few tablets sold with keyboards. This one and the Surface range.

amazon selling new version of it..i think this is the hd version description says that
amazon.co.uk/gp/…ile

I think it is Full HD. If you look up the part number listed on very (80HV002SUK) by "Machine Type - Model" @ support.lenovo.com/gb/…kup you'll see a Full HD LCD part.

Dont know much about the specs etc, can anyone advise the main differance between this one and the posted one, apart from this is a refurb.
just want one for web, storing video files etc, not for gaming,

any help appreciated.

Looks like the one you posted is just a touchscreen netbook. The one in this deal is basically a fully functioning tablet with a keyboard dock. I have just received mine today and couldn't be happier with it. I used to have an Asus t100 and it was okay but this has a much more premium feel especially for the price

I vowed not to buy a 32GB eMMC tablet again. Not that I am in any way disappointed with my Asus T100 (writing this from it as we speak) - but just because the storage space is v.restrictive.

However, I have a £25 off voucher for Very - and a Full HD screen would resolve one of my only gripes with my T100. However, am I right in thinking that this Lenovo has some pretty awful speakers? Also, how is the touchpad (I assume it must be better than on the Asus).

Also, does the Lenovo charge via micro USB?

I think im going to go for this for about another £60 ish,
i know its not much of a deal but seems a bit better spec

Save £60 and go for this one instead;

Lenovo Flex Ebay

The processor isn't quite as good - but you will have £60 to invest in an SSD which will transform the performance on such a laptop. In fact, there was a Hynix SSD available for £35 on HUKD earlier today which is probably still available. I don't like the retailer that sells it...but at £35, it's almost certainly worth a punt.

So can I. Bought this a couple of months ago from Very and am (Very) impressed with it. Great build quality and runs really smoothly. Never liked windows 8.1 but is ok for a tablet like this though do use the keyboard a lot.
