I've had my eye on these for a while for a gift but they've been in the £200-£270 range. This is one of the better models, up to 9 hours battery life, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 2 megapixel front camera and 5 megapixel rear camera.

1 Year free subscription to Office 365, Quad Core Intel Atom Z3735F (1.3GHz with 1.8GHz Turbo Boost), micro USB, micro SD slot, micro HDMI, Intel HD Graphics, 32GB hard drive (expandable via micro SD), IPS display. There's a full size USB port in the base.

You can either use this as a tablet or connect it to the keyboard base which compared to most others is really good quality, with full Windows 10, you can either dock the display facing you like a laptop, or reverse it and use it as a stand.

John Lewis provide a 2 Year Guarantee and Free Standard Delivery on this product too, and the 64GB model is available for £199.95 if internal storage is a concern for you, or just get a micro SD card as I will be doing.

Fantastic price for a branded tablet/2 in 1 running full Windows, 2GB ram, with a good processor and some good features for mobile computing, and the keyboards on these are much nicer than some of the cheaper alternatives.

does this come with the keyboard. the website is a bit unclear
Lower screen resolution than its predecessor but carry the same price. Bonkers.

I would have said not - there is no mention of it in the description and the title only calls it a tablet. Admitedly 1 of the pictures shows it with one, but the others don't.
just checked with them, No keyboard

So no keyboard and lower screen resolution compared to its predecessor the Miix 3 but still carries the same £150 price tag.
Makes you think what kind of profit margins they must have on these.
Is this not the same as Linx 1010B £129 from Amazon with Keyboard?
Looks similar spec, but the Linx is cheaper and includes the keyboard.
this or Linx 1010b?

Yes, get the miix 3 if you can, comes with a keyboard too.
Post title says with keyboard and the picture shows it.
No mention of the keyboard through the JL link but pictures there do show it !
OP please clarify.

I have checked the part number against various alternative listings and also spoken to John Lewis, and accessed the user manual via Lenovo, I can confirm that this DOES come with the keyboard dock!

The Miix 3 is said to have shorter battery life, and the screen resolution is only 'up to', most sites (including Very) have that one listed as 1280x800 too.

The Miix 300 appears to be a newer gen model with similar specifications, a 5mp rear camera and Windows 10.

The resolution can be changed in Windows as the graphics chip supports higher, on most websites the Miix 3 is actually listed as 1280x800 too.

The Miix 3 has a screen resolution of 1920x1080. Theres no arguing that fact. Doesn't matter what websites say, it has a FullHD screen. I have one.
The Miix 300 has a screen with a maximum resolution of 1280x800. Nothing more.

On a screen this size, most users aren't going to notice, particularly those that were looking for something similar to the Linx. Also the person I'm buying for will benefit more for the extended battery life and 5mp rear camera.

If you can find the Miix 3 for the same price at a national retailer then please, be my guest.

Unless you're the person at John Lewis deciding the prices or the person at Lenovo deciding to put an 800p screen in this updated model then don't take offence at my posts which simply outlay my disbelief that they are/trying to get away with selling less for more.

I'm glad this little inexpensive machine will suit the person just fine and I'm sure it will many others but that doesn't make the practice of selling an updated model with lower specs for the same price right in any way.

That's fair enough but ultimately the model you're referring to is currently unavailable. I may have a quick play with it and feed back but all materials/reviews I've seen have been pretty positive.
I phoned up and checked online with other suppliers it's just the tablet not the dock
get an asus x205ta its better build than this. The only downside is you can't use it as a tablet.

My Miix 3 is 1920x1200.
For just a tablet and not a dock it's expensive. There are better deals out there I suppose.
damadgeruk

My Miix 3 is 1920x1200.

Even better.
My miix 3 is also 1920 x 1200. Looking at the weight of the product at 615 grams implies that it definitely does not come with a keyboard. The miix 3 was 1055 grams with the keyboard so doubt very much that Lenovo could half the weight.

The Miix 3 also has IPS screen and quad core processor. The specification is no better than the miix 3 for the same money save for the rear camera although according to Lenovo's website the Miix 3 should have had one. In a comparison it is actually more expensive than the miix 3 for the same tablet with cheaper screen and no keyboard.

It's not easy to use one of these for windows without a keyboard. I am glad I bought the miix 3 as it was a good price for the money but £149.99 for a 10" windows tab is not good value in my opinion. Also according to JL site it doesn't come with windows 10. It comes with 8.1 which means the consumer will need to upgrade it.

Interesting review on the miix 3 below.

Is this a new form of dick-waving? :O
Not sure but looks like the miix 300 is an inferior model to its predecessor for the same money.
The display model in Bristol John Lewis had a keyboard and was priced the same.

Not really the same then is it
could this run cad?
Received mine today and I can confirm that the KEYBOARD is included, and the device has Windows 10 PREINSTALLED. The boxed weight is 1.640kg.
@sam_proctor95 cheers Sam, i was wondering if its a cover/keyboard or a built in keyboard. Did you definately get the miix 300 and not the miix 3 ? I have ordered the miix 300 on the tesco website at £149 but the pictures and description dont suggest there is either a keyboard attached or as part of the cover (which same youtube 'unboxing' videos suggest)....any additional info would be helpful regarding the keyboard situation.

cheers

tesco website tesco.com/dir…956 ????
I requested confirmation from JL and still awaiting response. Still not as good a buy as the Miix 3 but if it works as well, which it should as its the same hardware then still not a bad buy but I just love the high resolution full HD screen of the Miix3. There is a downside of that though in that some of the windows menu fonts are quite small and you cannot adjust them all.

I see that Tesco's don't even show it with the keyboard as the above post states and it lists it as having 8.1 pre-installed and not 10. Hopefully JL will confirm soon.

UPDATE: On Very's site they describe it as a 2 in 1. It can't be a 2 in 1 without a keyboard so looks like it is included. Wouldn't you have thought that all those clever people with Marketing Degrees could have at least described what you get. Tesco describe it as a tablet !!! Two different versions perhaps.

Tesco are actually selling it 3rd party via laptopoutlet.co.uk, the link for the EXACT same product on their website says its Windows 10 and DOES come with the keyboard. All very confusing...

laptopoutlet.co.uk/len…tml
I couldn't see in the description where it mentions the keyboard and I scanned it 3 times lol. It also refers to windows 8.1 further down in the description. Doesn't anyone check anything these days when these companies write up adverts.

Its even confusing on Lenovo's own website as its described as a tablet and not a 2 in 1. At least on the miix 3 they got the description right as shipped with a folio case for the early models and then a keyboard dock from December, assume that was last year.
Finally got a reply from JL today. Here is what they said....

Dear Martin. RE: Your enquiry, CASE-02677567

Thank you for your recent email with regards to the Lenovo Miix 300.

Having checked further into your request I can confirm that the item does not come with a keyboard. Also the item should come with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 is available via a free upgrade.

I do apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If I can be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind Regards

Ross Hutchison

I responded to say that the advert on their website was misleading. At no part does it state it does not come with the keyboard. It does not show they keyboard as being available as an optional extra. All consumers who know what the miix3 was will expect it to come with a keyboard. I also told them that on Very's site it was advertised as a 2 in 1 which means it must have a keyboard. I asked them if they had done a physical check and requested that if it does not come with a keyboard then for them to remove the pictures which show it.

Very poor marketing by Lenovo and JL on this product. Reviews on amazon suggest it has a keyboard.

I am only re-iterating what JL have said in correspondence. Whether the keyboard is included or not should still be stated on the advert. There is absolutely no reference to it apart from a picture or two and the same on Lenovo's website.
I've actually been interested in buying this tablet from John Lewis as you get a 2 year guarantee, I first emailed them on whether it comes with the keyboard inside the box and reply was to contact one of the branches to confirm this. before calling, I discovered that if you go on the John Lewis website click on ipad and tablet link under the electricals tab, you will be faced by an animated banner, when it arrives at the 4th slide it will read "The Lenovo Miix 300 windows 10 tablet features an HD display and a detatchable Keyboard, making it perfect for work and play" meaning this tablet should definitely have a detachable keyboard. when I made the call to my nearest branch (Milton Keynes) the lady first said no keyboard, I then explained the whole banner situation on the website, she then changed her mind and said in that case it does probably have the keyboard, leading me to believe that she's completely clueless therefore unhelpful. I tweeted Lenovo UK and they confirmed no keyboard on John Lewis items, as a result I emailed John Lewis again pointing out their false advertising issue for this tablet and awaiting for a reply. this should be interesting...

Mine definitely came with one and the tablet itself is pretty nippy, I'm pleased with the product but it's a shame the retailer and manufacturer are confused
The one I got from Amazon definitely has the keyboard (I'm typing this answer on it). The exact model is Lenovo Miix 300-10IBY.
Not the fastest machine in the world, obviously, but good enough for light office stuff and browsing the internet.
It has Windows 10 Home version factory installed. I've also noted that they left the old Windows install files on the hard drive, and that's taking up around 3.7GB. Use cleanmgr.exe to clean them.
It's not too heavy (1.2Kgs with the keyboard) which makes it feel a little sturdier than normal but the touchpad appears to have a mind of it's own...
The screen resolution could be better (1280x800) but for the price I can't complain and to be fair, it does have good viewing angles and the touch is responsive.
Battery time is average (4-5 hours with the keyboard attached. 6-7 without). It's a shame they didn't take the chance to add an extra battery on the keyboard. The charging port, although it has a standard USB port on one end (allows use of USB chargers like the Nexus one) on the connecting side on the tablet is a proprietary connector. It's a real shame why they didn't stick with a generic micro usb port.
I'll give it a 6.5 out of 10. It will not replace your laptop, but it's good enough for small tasks and to carry with you when you go on a trip. Just be sure to get an additional fast micro-sd card (up to 64GBs) for much needed extra disk space.
