Why's is this cold, is it because of gearbest
over the years, i've learnt to stop wondering why things go cold around here

this is a great price for this handset - i've got one myself. for some strange reason, three stopped selling them after only 6 months, so they're seemingly quite rare now.
Its a lot of phone for the cash, however a lot of cash to risk on a non UK Co, plus the possibility of customs getting in on the act ( yes i know they ship as $10 gift but ive seen it before, 20% plus £29 for documentation is a hard hit ), there are also screen issues, reports of cruddy customer service and peoples perceptions about 'best and other far away comanies will almost always make this a cold deal,if this was a UK based Co. then id bite...
Great phone with large battery but let down by a mediocre camera
It's obvious why it's 'cold' based on the few comments here. It seems like the big battery is all it's got going for it. But you might as well buy a good phone with a smaller battery + a powerbank. Or with a removable battery if you can find one (damn you, manufacturers!).
The other thing to note here is that this is actually the model for the Chinese market (hardware version p2c72) with the firmware for the UK/European market (p2a42). That means there is no band 20. Although that might be the only difference, I'm not 100% sure.

Octa-core processor, 4gb of ram. 32 or 64gb internal storage.

NFC enabled with fingerprint unlocking.

Super AMOLED screen.

That's just off the top of my head. yes, the battery is clearly a big selling point but there's enough under the hood that could certainly see this phone still being relevant in 4 or 5 years time.

I think this is why it's cold - it's presented like this is the UK version but it's not. There have been other posts about this, although not as cheap as this.
Ordered let's see if it's any good it it isn't then it be going on eBay and making a profit game are stupid enough to give me 100 for my clapped out gflex 2 it's served me well but two years of heavy use and the battery is on it's way out now
Sorry for the potentially stupid questions but can someone please help me get my head around this.
I've been looking at the Lenovo P2 as a cheap replacement for my aging galaxy note 2 which is on its last legs.

I understand that certain foreign versions of the phone lack band 20 support, but I'm not entirely sure how much of an issue it will be to me.

I'm currently on a sim only plan from three and have never used 4g as my note 2 has never supported it. Am I right in that with this phone I can still use the other 4g band supported by three, but 4g coverage won't be that great if I'm in a band 20 area? Sorry if this is stupid, but its the only thing stopping me from going for this phone.

Cheers

Yes, you're correct. O2 is the only UK network that only uses Band 20 for 4G. So no Band 20 means no 4G at all. The other networks use two or more bands. Band 20 is increasingly being used in rural areas because it can cover larger areas. This link might be useful....

Brilliant thanks.
Anyone know what the update that dropped today does? Just a security patch?

(I'm on the ROW N release).

Yes, looks like just a security patch.
