For those not adverse to buying from China... Gearbest currently have the amazing Lenovo P2 for only £157.20. Sadly it's not the International version so has no Band 20 support but other than that this phone wipes the floor with the competition in this price range and puts many handsets far more expensive to shame
Three no longer retail this handset in the UK so the non Band 20 version is really the only option unless you buy used.

Nope the Camera isn't the best out there but it's perfectly fine for day to day use.

It has one of the fastest fingerprint sensors around that also doubles as a multi-touch capacitive home\back\menu key

It has a genuine 3 day battery life with almost double the battery life of a Galaxy S8

Android 7 Nougat update is available as an OTA upgrade and November Android security patch was released OTA last week
the Phone runs a very light Lenovo launcher that gives a near stock version of Android

For the Tinkers out there Rom support is good on XDA etc.. with Android 8.0 Oreo rom's available as well as Lineage OS

Voted Hot as I'm a big fan of this excellent phone (really wish 3 were still selling it, or they'd release a new P3 version at a £250-£300 price).

My few month old '3' supplied phone stopped working after getting wet, so I ordered the P2 from Gearbest. Hoping that the lack of Band 20 isn't going to make too much difference with my current mobile company EE.

Just to note, that my order was "shipped" on 02 Nov 2017 and has not arrived yet on 23 Nov 2017. To be honest I was expecting a 6-8 week delivery (as others had posted about in the previous HUKD threads on the Lenovo P2) but it is definitely another thing you should bear in mind if going ahead and ordering from GB in China!

Cheers, Derek :>

If this phone had a better camera it might well be the best phone ever made (given all factors including cost)

I've had mine a year or so now and been so pleased with it. The battery is absolutely ridiculous on it. You can happily go out of the house at about 30% and have it last all day. The performance is really snappy and it's basically stock Android (although still on 6 unless you update manually).

The camera is a shambles though, so if pictures are something you take regularly this might not be the phone for you. In conditions other than optimum lighting, most images come out like a Cy Twombly sketch. It's a real pain in the backside at times.

I'm on the lookout for a new phone myself to replace my P2...nothing wrong with it I'm just fickle :-)

Can't seem to find anything better than the P2 without dropping to a much worse battery....Think I'll hold out for the P3 as well (If Lenovo ever release it!)

I really don;t find the camera that bad but then again I'm only a casual snapper. regarding the OS version I think that as this isn't running the Three Rom it will picj up the OTA Android 7 version automatically, no need to update manaully.

Apologies I should have stated that I'm on the Three ROM and was just talking generally about my experiences with the phone.

My P2 order got lost with Gearbest .... They were no help. Had to go back to the CC company to get my money back.

Nice mini review from an actual user. Thanks Daanuk.

Nice phone. Looking at the Umidigi S2 myself.

Three are still selling it, online only.

Anyone know if there are any plans for a P3? The P2 is a beast of a phone and I highly recommend it.

They aren't - if they were, I would have bought one to replace the one I have with a non functioning screen after a trip down the toilet.

Long been rumoured, nothing confirmed yet sadly

I have been using my P2 since May. As others and reviewers state the battery is fantastic, I use my phone most of the day connected to 4G or WiFi with Bluetooth on too and easily get two days on a single charge!

Stock camera software isn't great so I installed Open Camera which gives better results. I'm an occasional snapper not a selfie poster or anything.

I'm running the device with an SD card in the second tray slot, I had a couple of apps (QuickPic was one) which ran like a bag of spanners and threw up errors so uninstalled, remove the card then reinstalled to internal memory..no issues with either now.

Only grumble I have is output volume via the 3.5mm socket, it's a tad low.

I thought three quickly off loaded there stock when they realised they were dual sim which three don't like to sell/stock, as they want you on there network only, if Lenovo do bring out a p3 version and it is dual sim I doubt three will stock it.

Great phone, best I have ever owned and the best £180 I have ever spent, only needs to charge mine every 4 - 5 days. My Samsung s5 was more like every 18 hours.

Since Lenovo have decimated the quality of Motorola since they've taken it over, no thanks - I'd have no faith in it whatsoever.

Read the reviews... You couldn't be more wrong about the P2

Reviews are great about Motorola products too - but their real-world reliability is completely down the toilet - 4 Moto phones with hardware or software problems in two years. I loved my Moto G and Moto G2 but I'm totally over Moto now.

I have issues with my Lenovo using loads of android kernel memory , does this until the phone crashes and shuts down. Lenovo support is poor and 3's may as well not exist. Not sure why this is happening but I have completely wiped the phone and when this never worked upgraded to android 7, still crashes . Maybe it's my fault , I have dropped it a few times , no cracks or dents , and it has been splashed a few times , not submerged though

My experience of Gearbest is that major products always have something wrong with them that may not stop them being useable but will always spoil them (they usually give you a few dollars credit - not cash) - not something you get with UK products because they get changed.

Camera is decent, especially so considering the cost. Screen is only 1080p which helps the battery, likewise the slower but modern CPU and extra large battery.

Its going to be interesting next year when the iPhones all get upgraded to OLED.

I've been using the chinese version of this phone since August on EE, the lack of Band 20 hasn't been an issue. Thankfully EE use bands 3,7 and 20.

I have just went to buy this for my wife for Christmas. Delivery says 10-21 business days. Has anyone ordered from these before? What are the chances of getting it before Christmas?

Hot deal. Too bad that Three is not selling it anymore .

By the way I can see that I'm not the only one thinking that Lenovo should release a P3. Hardware buttons (it's absurd to have fingerprint on front but on screen back and menu buttons) and a better camera is all what this phone needs to be the best phone ever on my eyes

Bonus points for the first Cy Twombly reference on HUKD.

Do you not use the fingerprint button gesture feature? I can't use a phone without this now its brilliant. home, menu and back all on one button.

Hot UK deals why all these Chinese deals ? what about import duty ?

I do, but I find it more convenient to have hardware buttons to go back open the menu (like old Samsungs)
