I purchased this monitor instead of the Lenovo 28" 4K deal that went hot. Just because I am not a big fan of 4K @ 28". I use Dell dual 24" QHD monitors at work and I know that 4K at small size is not for me.

3481891.jpg
I applied the 10% discount newsletter voucher on top of the 20% Lenovo Education discount.

Apart from the above, the selection of ports on this monitor makes it future proof and I can connect it to almost any of the various devices that I have at home (DP, HDMI, USB C) etc. My desk will be clutter free and I will be able to charge my phones/power banks etc too without much hassle. I will be able to use my USB C laptop with just one cable for everything including power, display, sound etc.

The monitor looks great to me and that's a real bonus. It ticks all boxes for me. I am not into gaming.

  • 27 Inch IPS Panel
  • QHD 2560 x 1440
  • USB Type-C 3.1 (with power delivery)
  • 1 x HDMI 1.4

  • 2 x USB Type-A 3.0 with 1 x BC 1.2
  • Integrated Speakers (2 x 3W)
  • 1 x Audio Out (3.5mm)
  • 2mm bezels
  • 4ms response time (extreme mode0
  • 75hz refresh rate

"With an irresistible blend of modern build and premium features, the Lenovo Q27h is a monitor that gets people talking. The QHD (2560 x 1440) resolution In-Plane Switching (IPS) display offers excellent clarity for work, everyday use, or even light gaming. 4-side NearEdgeless bezels and a minimal, space-saving design can transform your desk space—aesthetically and functionally. A full-function USB Type-C port with the Smart Power* management system offer flexible connectivity and intelligent power distribution. The Q27h is a smart solution letting you seamlessly switch between work and entertainment without compromising on quality."

What kind of wonders?

Many.

For example, you if you have a laptop with USB C port, you can connect your laptop with the monitor with one USB-C to USB-C cable and it will mirror the display or extend the display and transfer the sound to the monitor as you would expect. It will also charge the laptop at the same time, means you won't need to plug anything to the laptop. That means, a one cable solution.

If you pass through the USB C cable via a USB C hub, you can have all sorts of ports that you may not have on the laptop and connect other devices to it.

You can also connect other monitors to it creating a daisy chain.

You can have an RJ45 socket, SD card reader, extra USB 2, 3 and C ports, disk drive etc to name a few.

You can connect your phone with USB C cable to mirror the display and also charge it at the same time.

If the monitor only had a USB C port, you can almost connect any device to it using a USB C HUB. It eliminates so many other cables and dongles.

I suggest you look up on Google to see how professionals benefit using it as one cable docking solution with their laptops.

It is fascinating.

I hope the above answers your question somewhat. There are many experts here who may add to this.

I have the P24h-10 which i picked up just before lockdown for use with my macbook, and it's damn good. the USB-c video and charge is excellent, plus being able to use my wired mouse on the USB hub.
That is a nice looking monitor
Heat! Sounds like a good buy
Does it have VESA mount support?
this isn't 4k, its QHD. that's less than 4k.

Bigger bezel at the bottom. And no USB ports of any kind it seems let alone the God of all ports USB C.

Completely agree. I was skeptical about my choice before I trusted my own experience.

Here is an experiment for those who are not convinced. Not the most ideal experiment but it will help you make your mind up.

Plug your large 4K inch TV to the PC/Laptop, and try to perform your day to day work on it at full 4K, even at 200% or more scaling.

And then imagine doing it on a much smaller monitor.

4K on smaller screen is more suited to photo and video editing professionals. And even then the settings panels with tiny text and icons will prove to be a nuisance unless the software itself addresses the issue.

Gaming is a different matter, i.e. 4K is purely to enjoy the details and realism in rendered graphics, provided your graphics card is powerful enough and not mining bitcoins in the background with a faint hope that it will help you recover all the money that you have parted with due to HUKD

Tried to register for it a few times tonight but keeps asking for a special email address? Presumably a university one or edu? Anyone get around this? Thanks

Vesa 100 X 100

It says on the spec sheet. That's how the monitor base is connected to it.

On a side note, I have observed that all if not most, reasonably recent TVs and Monitors have VESA mounting capability. It is a must have.

It is essentially 5k albeit without the pixel doubling. 4k is 1080 lines, this is 1440 lines, but i'm guessing you've never seen a QHD display next to a FHD display, so, well, this will all be lost on you.
