TN Screen

The last time this was posted at this price it was frowned upon the weight and screen. TN isn't for everyone but sub £350 for a well specced machine (not Lenovo's budget range either) seems a good deal.

Is it dual channel ram, fo we know ram speed frequency?
Also worth noting - I cannot find it on Lenovo's own site, only INTEL versions in this size, Ryzen one's with 14" screens. The 340 range seems to be a mixed plastic and metal construction. so whilst not in the 540's league it's not budget city either. My current HP Pavillion is Plastic and not terrible, whereas the OH HP budget machine flexes everywhere you touch it.
Good price similar with IP’s display at John Lewis , is £479 in rose gold
who thinks their at it with these TN & IPS screens? surely not that much cash to have better IPS screen?

Probably, but I'd imagine there's either stock or manufacturing capacity still invested in TN so there's the ability for, ie, Lenovo to offer them to be able to sell up customers to IPS.

Personally a good TN screen isn't a terrible thing for me on a laptop that you'll spend a large proportion of your time directly in front of.
This is a pretty good deal. Dual channel RAM so performance isn't hammered. TN screen is sufficient for most people at the £400 budget, it isn't as bad people make it out to be on HUKD. Build quality won't be the best but it won't be the worst either. Overall this is excellent value for a laptop that should be around £400-450
Seem to have said this a lot recently! This model was £315 on BF with eBay via Ebuyer.

Brilliant machine. My son is happily playing fortnite on it right now.

This is a great deal. Very solid specs.

The s340 is quite nice especially in the blue case. The keyboard feels good too.

The TN panel is something that polarizes the community here. But then there are good panels and bad ones.

Important thing for you to consider is also that TN isn’t all about viewing angles - the IPS panels tend to have richer colors and look less greyed out. If you’re using this laptop a lot then that screen is I think quite important, especially when watching movies and videos and so on.

Of course this is nearly £90 lower than my S540 deal. But If you’re going to spend a lot of time in front of the screen watching videos or even light gaming then consider an IPS as a good investment.

Less ram, more money. Unless it's an ips screen?

This would be for the OH. I have an IPS HP Pavilion, both are used for at most a couple hours a day. Gaming / image work I still use an NEC 24 WMGX3 or the TV for casual stuff.

First one not worth it, just 4gb ram.

Second one is similar spec to this but £50 for a slightly better screen
Is this S340 the same as this Lenovo V155? ebuyer.com/901…553

S340 is much better build quality than the V155 which is usually this kind of price. Good find for £350, someone will moan about ‘no IPS’ but it’s £350 so you pay more if you want premium features.
I bought this on Friday and I have no complaints. It runs really well, doesn't feel cheap or plasticky (and I'm coming from a metal cased Acer!) The only slight niggle is the TN screens colours aren't the best BUT I haven't had time to mess around with the settings.

Picked mine up a couple of days ago. Good laptop, TN screen slightly disappointing but overall great value for the price and nice specs.
