This one. Has a better processor with more bandwidth (17GB/s vs 10GB/s).

How is it £69? Assume you are including £30 cashback? I don#t really get this cashback thing, Can I claim the £30 cashback if I order through amazon as there is no mention of it on there?

what do you mean by bandwidth?

Thanks ordered for £99 + £30 cashback + 1.05% TCB (every little helps )

Fantastic tablet for the money. Got mine from PC world just after Xmas for £130. Quick and a great screen. Build quality isn't ipad standard but then you're not paying ipad money.

Shame it is Android - on a tablet Windows really works much better, especially with an Intel CPU.

Hahaha, very funny.

Tablet is good but don't upgrade the firmware. It changes the dpi 240(can't remember the exact figure) from 320 (approx). Basically everything appears bigger. Lenovo already know about it and have done nothing to fix it

Decent tablet for the price.

Yes if you're willing to pay £30 extra and wait 6 months for that £30 to be paid back that's a big IF then Very's customer service the worst there is in my opinion.

Amazon has the best customer service ever in my experience.

This deal is not any better why pay £30.00 extra then wait it out for months just to see if you can claim cashback

As a disclaimer, it's at your own risk but worked for me and many others - just change it back after the firmware upgrade. I settled on a DPI of 253. The instructions can be found on the Lenovo forums at forums.lenovo.com/t5/…/18

If you don't see your tablet after running 'adb devices' command then you most likely do not have the S8-50 drivers installed. To resolve this plug in your S8-50 to your computer open the File Manager in Windows and you'll see there is a drive listed with the S8-50 drivers to install.

I'm somewhat reluctant to buy a tablet with rather poor battery life as I've learnt from my Wikipad that it's quite tedious going to use it only to find the battery's low and you have to use it whilst chained to the plug socket, or that you can only play a game for an hour before you have to charge the damn thing. The lack of Custom ROM development is a bit worrying as well, considering the reported issues with this (brightness, DPI, headphone volume).

However, I've got a £30 discount with Very and the £30 cashback from Lenovo means this will only cost me £69, so I'm somewhat tempted. On the other hand, even though this has more RAM, probably has slightly better battery life and is less prone to getting clogged up and needing rebooting (which takes ages on my encrypted Wikipad) I'm not sure I'd find any more use for it than my Wikipad.

My ideal purpose would be to use cheap tablets like this as interactive instruments in flight sim cockpits, where they can stay plugged in so the battery life isn't an issue but as there's no suitable software, unless you can code your own they're pretty useless for that. For checking e-mail or forums, it's quicker and easier to use my PC when at home and my Moto G 2014 does the job when I'm out (I wouldn't want to carry around a tablet unless I really had to anyway). For playing games, anything emulated really needs a controller, so the Wikipad's more useful for that (in theory anyway, I've tried some Saturn games that ran so slowly they were unplayable), when out you're not going to be able to play for long before you're left carrying around a paperweight and when at home, it's probably more sensible to run emulators if they're available on a PC or console.
