There were some bad reviews on the quality of this laptop on the previous thread on here which is putting me off... Noisy/hot... screen not aligned etc. And some generally poor reviews for Lenovo after sales/repairs.

Anyone whose bought this laptop, is the quality any good?

Also, it's not 100% clear if it is gloss or antiglare? (edited)

Hi, I have this laptop and am currently scheduling a repair of the trackpad. The laptop itself runs good but it's a creaky fellow with less than stellar build quality.

It looks very much like the coating on my legion 5 Pro, I could be wrong, if so I'd avoid as the paint just wears off very easily and lenovo won't cover it under warranty. They state it's wear and tear even though it happens very quickly after purchase. Lots of people on reddit complaining about this. On the other hand I have a cheap ideapad 3 that's been great, no wear on the fake aluminium plastic palm rest and use this more than I've ever used the Legion 5 Pro.

yes i am hearing they dont cover much under warranty!

reading the reviews and experiences every issue seems to turn into "you must of damaged it, got it wet, dropped it, etc." even if you have not. i think i have answered my own question on whether to buy this, as usual. of course you could buy it with "accidental damage" insurance to cover for their lack of basic coverage which seems to be a common theme across laptop makers, they are often not reliable. AMD CPU so not for me! You need minimum 12th Gen i5 and double the RAM to be considered a deal at this price point! The only good thing about this deal is the 14 inch screen which is ideal for navigating trains and airports. (edited)

    Great CPU in this.

Who needs a minimum 12th Gen i5 by the way?

The soldered RAM on this is a real downer, spec wise it's ok but 5600H is a bit long in the tooth now (still capable though) - I think the ASUS Vivobook deals have been better recently.

I had this laptop, great features (automatic keyboard backlight, presence detection, auto lock, windows hello). Battery life wasn't great - maybe 5 hours mixed use.

Main problem was build quality. After about a week the whole thing squeaks and creaks all around the chassis, and clicks when opening and closing the lid. (edited)

why or why do they have to use soldered on RAM! otherwise this would have been perfect for moi.
