Using your voice, you can ask the built-in Google Assistant to run-through your calendar, tell you your commute time or let you know what the weather’s going to be like for the day. Plus, it’ll play music from streaming services, such as Spotify and YouTube Music, so you can start your morning in the best mood. It’ll even control other devices around your home, letting you lock the doors or turn off the lights from your bed. It has a touchscreen too, so you can still tap the snooze button for an extra 5 minutes in bed

It had issues with setting up and I was almost about to return it, when it successfully updated after changing my wifi bands to separated 2.5 and 5GHz and let it complain overnight until it connected automatically to the right wifi.It has very impressive sound, and I only paid £55.2 after the 22% discount and it works really well with Hive. I control my heating with Google all the time. It takes a while to understand what exactly to say but once you get a hang of it, it is a breeze. I am even planning to get smart bulbs (only the Hive ones) because of how well it works. It is in my room, and shows me my photos from the last 10 years which is very good. The only problem I say I have with it is that I use Youtube Music and not spotify, and google (not just Lenovo) doesn't like Youtube personal playlists at the moment. So, either use Google play music or Spotify for exact song match. I listen to a lot of foreign songs from Bollywood, to Turkish, to Italian piano, German Swiss metal bands and small sound cloud artists that create chillstep remixes of pop songs and youtube is the only place with all these songs in one place. The display is not the most beautiful, but again, works for what it is. Have even made Google Duo calls to women late night in the past straight from here and it is a romantic call midnight. The display changes to a clock as soon as the room goes dark which is a nice touch. Overall I can recommend it easily as I was almost going to return it, but ended up loving it

Do you have to know any women for this feature or is it a subscription service?

Is this device for people who don't have a smart phone?

could be for a kids bedroom who dont have a smart phone
Is this a rip off of the Alexa Show 5 or is it the other way round? The Alexa device is a fantastic alarm clock for the bedroom, much better sound than a phone.

simply put: yes.
This looks interesting, Currently building up a light system via Alexa so I presume this would work quite well with the system.

Other Google home devices will play most radio stations via free included TuneIn app, or play Spotify free. And you can upload your own mp3s to free Google Play music.
Caveat: this assumes the Google home on this device is the same as the others out there.

The YouTube thing is a big issue. I signed up to use YouTube Music but have to use Play Music now because of the lack of playlists.
