This has to be on someones xmas list as it looks amazing! Whether you are young or old i'm sure this would be a great pressie for a star wars fan (or not as it looks that good) Best price i have seen it far.

When I first heard about this I thought it sounded good - but suspected that they'd charge an extortionate price for what's essentially a glorified mobile phone app, something like £50. I was wrong, it was 5 times that price!

I can't understand the thinking behind the decision to make this 1-trick pony - I love Star Wars but there's no way I'd pay this money for 1 game.
If they'd bundled it into a mixed reality headset and slapped another £50-100 on top for the sabre & game, they'd have shifted a few.

This is a deals site (but I've had my whinge anyway) and it's cheaper than elsewhere I suppose - if you leave it in it's box, it'll probably be worth loads in years to come as one of the more outlandish Star Wars merchandise

8-12 hrs gameplay only..... I really done see the point in this at all. Just a waste of money...

only persons i can see wanting this are people with more money than sense, over priced crap that should be about £50

Everything is a waste of money to someone. This probably isn’t worth £250 but maybe £150 but I haven’t had a go of it to say if it’s worth it. I do own a vive and that blows me away every time I use it. If you haven’t had the chance to try real VR yet I would highly recommend it. Just wish curry’s could demo this so I can make up my mind

I'd like to try it out. Most interested in the headset, the app could easily be released on gear vr and daydream but I like the headset design. If the quality is good I think they should all have this design to allow ar but also be vr only by just pulling down a back plate

Is it me or is this just a see through mobile phone virtual reality headset which you can get for a tenner or a couple of quid if your willing to use a google cardboard with a lightsaber game control?

That's exactly what is is.

You still need a phone to play it on, so it's basically just a gearvr. They are releasing other games for it but why not just make a replica lightsabre and a mobile game for the gearvr, guess Disney just want their cake and eat it.

It's actually 3 games.

It's new. It's Star Wars. I don't blame the company for charging a premium. Star Wars nuts I know have said it's the best light sabre experience ever and they'd buy it. For the rest of us mere mortals we can wait until the dust settles.

There's lots of bleeding edge tech I wouldn't buy because it's too costly. This is what paves the way for innovation. We all benefit in the end.

I can understand the price, just not the decision to make it in the 1st place.
Lenovo have a mixed reality headset - they could have bundled the games and lightsabre controller with the headset as a premium option instead of this obvious loss-maker.

Wait can you only use the headset for the game? Also you could play it, return it lol

I'm a die hard Starwars fan and love VR (got a GearVR and hoping to get PSVR or the new self contained oculus)
BUT
I had a demo of this headset at Stratford Westfield Shopping Centre last week and i dont think it is very good, regardless of how much it costs.
Looks great, love the idea of a screen on the outside so observers can see what your doing. But the augmented reality experience just didnt feel as immersive as proper VR headsets.
Definitely try before you by in my opinion. Just my unbiased opinion for what its worth, that might help someone with thier decision.

Colder then the Ice age

Get a Oculus or HTC Vive then play this store.steampowered.com/app…ne/

It's probably a 100x better experience

If they’re going to make a Star Wars specific helmet why, for goodness sake, didn’t they model it on that helmet in the Falcon with the blast shield down? They had an actual light saber practice helmet in the movie and they didn’t use it.
