naturally thought specs of the tab3 10 inch would be better than the tab 2 version, but this doesn't have a 1080p screen

I was interested in this too, I have the tab 2 very pleased with it, thought I'd treat myself to an upgrade more ram, screen resolution is a deal killer though, why bring out a lower resolution screen seems pointless.
Any thoughts on this or would a galaxy tab e 9.6* 8gb be a better choice as Argos are selling them for £139??
Just looked at specs for both and there is a better battery, memory and RAM on the Lenovo so the Lenovo appears better.... How is the experience of using a lenovo though??

Dont expect any updates, and I'd go for a tablet with at least 6.0 version. Anything under the battery drains like crazy whilst in standby mode.
The screen on this is horrible, they've somehow managed to make the edges of text jagged on what should be a half decent display. Sent mine back to Argos and got an Acer iconia fhd 32gb from Argos eBay store.
Got one a couple of weeks ago at this price (when the £10 voucher with spend of over £100 was on) and happy with it. The one I got has Android 6.0.1

Only an 8" screen but for the specs I think it's a good compromise. amazon.co.uk/gp/…1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487425953&sr=8-1π=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=nvidia+shield+k1&dpPl=1&dpID=41E%2BkRB1irL&ref=plSrch

usually its either what the search terms are (if any ) original referrer, possibly also identifying yourself in too ..
This seems really basic for the price or am I just losing the plot? I recall we were seeing tablets of this spec (but admittedly refurbs at Argos Outlet, etc.) in the £60-80 range.

I guess this will be fine for some but it's not exactly good value with an HD screen and the most basic of SoCs.
I'm after a decent tablet for a comics book reader. This seems tasty but it's a shame the screen to body ratio isn't that great.

If that was £150 I'd probably bite.
What is the main difference to this model please apart from screen ?

Lenovo did the same with the miix 300. The miix 3 which I bought came with a 1920 x 1200 screen. It was a very nice screen and then what did Lenovo do when the brought out the new model which was the miix 300. They gave it a poxy low resolution screen. Maybe their buyer made a mistake on the screen resolution or they just want to keep the price down. Bad marketing if you ask me as I would pay a bit more for something better. I have the tab 2 with the 1920 x 1200 screen. It's nice when watching videos but put it side by side with the same screen resolution of the miix 3 the miix is better. Maybe not just the amount of pixels but also how it's processed can make a difference. My daughter has the galaxy Tab also with low resolution screen but side by side with the tab 2 I would say there's no difference.

Gotta agree, the screen resolution in particular just kills it. I don't understand making 10" tabs with this resolution anymore unless they're dirt cheap.

I wouldn't bother biting at £150, it is very bad value - the processor is the most budget of budget and it has the same poor resolution; both of which are kind of fine when talking sub £100 tablets but not for devices costing this much. Lenovo have really stitched buyers up with this as you expect newer models to be better but the Yoga Tab 2 was noticeably better (full HD and faster SoC) than the Yoga Tab 3 - the only thing that improved was the design (subjectively speaking).
1280x800 on 10inch screen?! Seriously?

The Yoga tablets have a nice little stand/grip built into them. You can position the tablet in a variety of ways, either have it on a surface standing straight up like a picture frame, angled at 45°, or you can even hang it from a hook. When the stand is folded in it gives you a very handy rounded grip to hold on to (think of an A5 spiral bound notebook). I went into Argos to have a look at the Tab 3 10" in the deal above but after having a good look at that and the Yoga Tab 8 I went with the Yoga instead. I just liked the form factor of it and the way the stand works, the build quality feels really good. In terms of specs they are pretty much the same, the Yoga has 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage, the same screen resolution, and it also get's an update to Marshmallow 6.0. So basically it's just up to you whether you want a screen that's 2" bigger, or whether you'd rather pay £10 less, get a free case, and prefer to have the built in stand.
we got one had a £7 off £70 voucher for argos in my inbox too as an argos cardholder.

there's nothing wrong with the screen yeah sure it isn't crystal clear like an iPad but it's perfectly usable

Sarcasm?
Any reason to go for this over the refurbished tab 2 on argos ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lenovo-Tab-2-A10-10-1-Inch-1-5-Ghz-2GB-16GB-WiFi-Android-White-From-Argos-ebay-/351544320213) which has been at this price a while.

The tab 2 has superior resolution and 1.5ghz, though it is an older model.

Hi mate, I bought the Yoga too. Can you tell me, when you touch the right hand side bit of the screen which meets the thin bezel is there some movement, mine feels like it's moving and the back of the case creaks.

No creaks or movement on mine at all. The only thing I find is that if I sometimes have my fingers on the grip the stand can occasionally pop out without me having pressed the button. If you've a concern about yours then you might as well take it back and swap it for another one.
just brought one, for £99.99 from argos. other places still at £179.99
