John Lewis have now reduced the price of the Lenovo Tab 4 plus 10 to £199. This seems a good price for a tablet with a fast processor and 3GB of ram running the current android nougat. The only let down is the 16GB storage but it does have an sd slot and with android 7 you can set it to be recognised as internal memory.

Price is the same as the curry's deal, however this includes a 2 year guarantee and free delivery.

100%
Can you set the sd card to internal memory to allow extra capacity for recording/downloading programs from SkyGo? The kids current tablet only has 8gb of internal memory but would be nice if an sd card could be used for extra space for SkyGo
This should have 32GB as standard. Found this comment on YouTube. Is this true?

Just returned a Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus. It has a really unbelievable flaw, I still cannot believe it. Imagine this: you get a tablet with full HD screen and super sound and you cannot load a single HD movie to watch! Why? Because somehow Lenovo tabs (including Yoga Tab 3 Pro and Plus) DO NOT SUPPORT FILES LARGER THAN 4 GB!!! The tablet will not accept an SD card in exFAT or NTFS format, and in FAT32 you cannot copy a file >4 Gb, thus only 720p movies and in a pretty bad quality, since even a 720p movie is usually about 6-7 Gb.

That is the limitation of the old file system MS FAT32, nothing to do with the tablet.

Try encoding a movie at 720p, size around 2.5GB and use a faster SD Card.
I've had this since August (picked it up at the same price, posted it here then) and have been mostly satisfied. It's nice and smooth, the screen is great and it has decent speakers. Lenovo seem to have such poor support (no news yet on an Oreo update for example) and you end up relying on the community a fair bit for answers if/when you get a question.

Definitely worth £200 though, not many tablets better at the price. The 16GB is stingy, no getting away from that, but as has been posted it does have an SD slot.

Thanks for sharing your experience, did you have any problem with using an sd card to expand the internal storage? its the only thing holding me back. currently using a hudl2 and it is really showing its age.
Check if your happy with type C.

I haven't used one to be honest. I rarely (if ever) take the tablet away from the house and when in the house, I use VLC to stream content from a server to it. I'm not a typical use case, I guess.
Would this be an upgrade from a Samsung tab s2?

If it’s the upgraded snapdragon 652 model you have then no your unit is faster overall.

Mate how long are your films? It's rare for a 1080p one to be over a GB if it's about 2 hours

Err yes and it's a combined one.....and if you have no other tech with this then you might not want to get a converter dongle/use one or replace your current 3.5mm expensive earphones. They might have 10 mini USB devices and leads all compatible now they need another type of lead to think about for just one item.
People might jump at some tech because it looks cheap but not appreciate the effect of something on that tech they didn't look at.
