Lucky it's a Lenovo then.

Hi folks, would you go for this over the Huawei Mediapad M3 8 Lite for the same sort of price? I suspect it's going to come down to which I prefer, faster cpu - this or more storage - M3 8 Lite (I know I can expand both with Micro SD). Not bothered about fingerprint recognition etc, just after other opinions. Cheers.

Agreed, I got one recently and was surprised at how speedy it is, how solid it feels and minimal pre-installed crap, of which can be removed pretty much. It's very close to stock Android.

If buying a protective case I'd suggest THIS case - be mindful the Plus is a slightly different size to the standard Tab4

I looked at that and what put me off was Huawei's EMUI 5.1 on top of the Android 7, some reviews suggest it can be sluggish.

Their phones aren’t the best either, they seem to be an automatic choice for many, especially ex-iPhone users.

There really are as good/better Android phones in the marketplace, many of which are ignored due to Samsung’s enormous marketing budget.

Who comes up with this Spiel???? .
Does it mean you get two for the price of one?
Good deal btw.
Comparable to a 2013 Nexus 7? Mine is slowly dying. Rotation not working (fixed many times) laggy sometimes.

I got a 4G version of this. It works very nice. And the system smooth. Better than M3 8. As my i gave it to my mum as replacement for it.

Where did you get that version from?
Good price. Heated. Same at Amazon here if anyone has vouchers they want to use up. Cheapest they've had it is £149.99 back in early January.

It's a shame it's only 16GB because the OS will eat up most of that. I think 32GB should be the absolute minimum now. I mean, we're in 2018 FFS, but most manufacturers still insist on making tablets with 2012 levels of storage (and RAM in a lot of cases), yet these same manufacturers offer far more storage and RAM in their phones, often at cheaper prices than their comparatively crappy tablets. Makes no sense. It's evil is what it is. Pure evil.

M3 8 Lite or M3 8? Big difference in specs between these two.
If I had to replace my Tab S2 today, I'd probably pick this up at this price.
Its has a really nice screen, but scrolling isnt as sensitive as most other other devices. You'll find you have to put a bit more effort into swipes. Do a search and you'll probably find a few other complaining about it. Other than that it's a very nice tablet.

I know, but that's aside from the point I was making.

This tablet retails for £250 (let's ignore for a moment that it's currently reduced to £155) and for that you get 16GB and 3GB RAM. The LG G-Pad I had in early 2014 had 16GB and 2GB RAM but only cost £110.

Now, four whole years later (that's a very long time where tech is concerned - just look at how far phones/SSDs/laptops/electric cars/other tech things/etc have come in four years), we're expected to stump up £140 more and get... an extra 1GB of RAM. Wow.

My, how Android tablets have progressed. Not.

You put the memory card into the tablet and it gives the option to wipe and use as internal storage or as a removable device

I know what you mean but since the update allowing the memory cards to be internal storage it isn't as bad as it would have been

I know what you mean, the battery on my LG G Pad 8.3" has seen better days, struggles to last a day with minimal use, even with the screen off for hours it still losing a whole load of battery charge. Looking at tablets around the £100-£150 mark and struggling to find anything worth upgrading for or even better spec.

Was thinking about the ASUS Z500M ZenPad 3S 10 posted on here @ John Lewis for £199, but gone up in price again and more than I was looking to spend. Although maybe I need to spend £200 to get a significant upgrade on what I had before?

Was same situation, unfortunately not many manufacturers releasing tablets these days, apart from Lenovo and Huawei, Samsung I've lost count of the revised same hardware but different name. For something portable like 8" tablet, is this model also looked at Huawei MediaPad M5 8.4" but it's not out yet and no headphone jack, I wouldn't mind that on a phone but tablet I like using headphones. Hardware wise it's better than this but pricing will be higher.

My LG G Pad 8.3 has served me well for several years but it is now laggy. Even with a custom ROM and reset it is showing its age.

My wife just bought a Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite 10 Inch 32GB Tablet and that is so fast by comparison. The sound, with its four speakers, is pretty damn good as well.

I was thinking of doing the same or the Tab4 plus, faster but poor speakers by comparison. Also that one only has 16GB of internal storage.

For a tablet I tend to prefer a 10" even tho the LG has served me well.

Reserved one for collection thanks.

Very good price and having checked few reviews over weekend looks ideal for me.

Bought a Kindle HD 8 before Xmas and just didn't get on with it, seemed awfully slow even compared to the more basic Fire 7" owned before, got an exchange as was convinced was faulty but really little better thankfully Amazon's excellent customer service came to the fore though and accepted return.

Had a lenovo tablet few years ago which was fine but spec on this looks way better.

Hopefully that's me sorted for a while now. Thanks OP
