is the 50 inch tv good?

Got the 50"hitachi at Xmas for £299 no complaints so far, excellent picture quality and freeview plus is handy
We have a slightly earlier version of the TV, just HD. It has been a good TV so far.

I have this exact model 50" TV and I was more than pleasantly surprised by the Smart Features.
Netflix and YouTube both load exceptionally quickly
Freeview anytime works very well, all the main apps load very quickly - even using the TV guide to go back in time to watch programs works nice and snappy.

I didn't buy it for the Smart TV features, but they are a brilliant addition.

Ours appears a black line after 9 months and Argos changed it for a Sony Bravia 55" WITH HDR, Comparing the two I would never get a hitachi again, especially since Argos bought hitachi out in 2012 they're awful TVs
I got a 40" 1080p Hitachi a couple of years ago and generally speaking it's okay, but when the screen is dark/blank you can really see how uneven the backlight is. Not a big problem but if I was going the 4k route I'd want a more even backlight. Does this suffer from that?

We got the tv at Christmas, the screen looks good but the smart functions are limited but for £299 you get what you pay for or at least we did
Got the TV for £299 at Xmas. It's decent for 4k viewing. Smart features are limited but who actually uses them? If you've got sky and Amazon TV, who needs iPlayer and YouTube?
Thank you, got the Tablet this morning, now to sell my Nvidia Shield Tablet (for much more than £99) as I bought the Nvidia TV via the offer from Hotukdeals recently so don't require both.
Hitachi TV check which magazine 😥

Not at all! Argos didn't have my model in so lady rang and apologised and advised it would be a Sony Bravia. See my older threads I was over the moon. HDR works much better on my PS4 all I need now is a ps4 pro
I'm seeing £389 on the above 50"??

Just started seeing this up for my boy last night... Do you find the screen really blurry? Seems terrible for the price?

I find that compared to my Nvidia shield and if I look closer at the screen it is obviously a lower resolution, but I am happy with it for what I am doing with it. Not Blurry, but yes lower quality resolution. For £99.00 I think its a steal with the expandable memory capability, I have loaded it with all my apps and many of the decent games (Limbo, Thomas was alone, Don't Starve) and it still is only half full on space after inserting an extra MicroSD card.

Cool - thanks. Argos refused to take it back anyway, so guess I'm sticking with it!

Yeah, I bought a device from Argos once and it didn't work with DJI Go app and they wouldn't take it back. I guess if you play on the BLURRY screen(say it seems faulty), they would have to do something for you.
