Not a bad price, shame it's a last generation i3 with the slower graphics although at least it's 4000 rather than 2500.

or go currys/pc world buy the lenovo g500 £299 then claim cashback of 20% from lenovo website £59.80. total price equals £239.20 also use cashback website for extra £3.50 ish off

This is a good spec, gets a score of 3290 on CPU benchmarks!

For reference, the Zoostorm PC that I got for Christmas last year is rated at 4316 but that is £240 without a screen!

Post the deal mate and you'll get some heat!

Only issue with Lenovo is the Bios Whitelist which restrict (big time) how one can upgrade parts eg. WIFI which could be just 2.4 GHz . I have a G505S and I found a compatible 2.4/5ghz wifi card but the laptop gets stuck in Bios as that card is not on the whitelist. I have been searching for a whitelisted 2.4/5ghz card for 10 months now and cannot find one. Only option is to flash the bios which is risky because one can brick the laptop!!

That has a slightly inferior 3110M CPU though but for the cash I guess is good.

no, at least not in my opinion but yours is a refurb, it does still have a 12 month warranty but a refurb all the same.

£300 for a last gen i3? My last gen i5 was bought for £329 almost 2 years ago now for some perspective. Deals with current gen i3 keep popping up for around this price (sure there was a dell last month for £270ish) so it may be worth waiting a short while as this isn't anything special imo. Not bad deal just not that good.

In a business chassis that should be a bit better built than the average budget laptop.

windows 7!!

this alone makes this a bargain, should have a cheep upgrade to windows 9 from 7.

10% = 29.90
29.90 x 2 = 59.80 = 20%

then take away from £299 .................. comprendez

Except if they did it your way you'd be getting back 20% of the VAT as well.
Easiest way is to divide the total by 6 and that's your VAT callback. The example they give is £250 back on a spend of £1500.

Or even cashback!

I wasn't querying the maths. What I want to know is what is this 20% off (or 'of')?

Judging by their example it`s as it says, the VAT back. Product price + VAT = 120%. Divide by 6 and that's the cashback.

10% = 29.90 29.90 x 2 = 59.80 = 20%then take away from £299 … 10% = 29.90 29.90 x 2 = 59.80 = 20%then take away from £299 .................. comprendez

If the price of the laptop is £298 then the value of the VAT cashback is actually £49.67, not £59.80. But it's a moot point since the model in the OP included in the cashback scheme

£30 cashback on this model from Lenovo until 30/9/14
