Something a bit different from me this evening. Specs look pretty decent for the price point on this. Everyone is looking for something different so for a tad under £800 this might do the trick for some of you.

I've popped the info regarding the free software below the specs, so you may want to have look at that as well. It does carry a fingerprint reader and a backlit keyboard as well as NFC, which I couldn't cram into the title

Delivery is free

Also sold at the same price on their sister site.

Sounds like a beast so for that price voted hot. Awaiting the nerds to ejikate me!

Missed a good deal on box because I needed to check the laptop was new and not a fefurb as so many places sell refurbs these days. They sold 3 in the day, then when I got the email the following day all 17 had been sold
Co-incidentally I just recommended this to someone on reddit who was looking for high performance and insane battery life, which this laptop provides!
I am on the look out for a half decent gaming machine with a good screen and also something that doesnt need plugging every 2 to 3 hours. I'm wondering if I should get two machines or would this work out for me?

This isn't really for gaming, the gpu isn't great - you need something like this for gaming (only 3.5 hours battery life though): rover.ebay.com/rov…477

that laptop is amazing I can assure you that for high spec laptop you cant find more reliable and in some way business looking laptop. Its excellent for Graphic Designers, Architects.. etc.. and also very nice for doing presentations. I know many companies keep exactly this if not later model P52s... P70 ... in their meeting room.
All major companies use Lenovo and I can actually say Microsoft use them for their employees in a lot of their offices if not all here in UK.
Great price!
Does anyone know if this is powered by the USB-c port?

This is a great deal, just ordered one to replace my partners very elderly Thinkpad T500, depending on how much I like the p52s it I might order another to replace my W530.

Surprised its 1.4 and not 2.
Seems ideal for a basic CAD system, eg. SolidWorks (16GB + Quadro graphics).

Anyone use one of these or similar, for Lightroom?
And seems to have an amazing 22hr battery life!!
If only this was 14".
Anyone knows if there are any new releases on 13"or 14" fliphinge laptops with dedicated GPU?

Good laptops, I've got the slightly older p50 with 40gb ram in it, battery life is great too

this laptop or w540 lenovo better?

The P series replaced the W series about 4 years ago. The W540 dates from around 2014 and is 5 year old tech, this laptop was released about a year ago so will be pretty much better in every way. Saying that I'm still using my W530 (had it from new for nearly 5 years now) but starting to look at getting a replacement in the next year or so and I am very interested in getting one of these for myself but I would say If you already have a W540 and are happy with it I wouldn't bother upgrading. If you're looking at this vs. a W540 then I would buy this without question.
With all this hardware in the laptop the only bottleneck to performance is likely to be internet speed if working online and using cloud based applications, ideally suited for superfast broadband.
Do I need it? No. Do I want it, yes....

Can you add a wireless internet antenna for 4G for this?

Seems pretty easy to upgrade RAM and SSD.
Heat up! Great spec for the price. Very tempted...
Get a little back from TCB on top.
Any way to add a 2tb hdd to this, in addition to the ssd?

I’ve got an X1C6, must be its biggest advocate. I love that machine
I've got this with 32Gb ram and it's a fantastic machine. It's not the most attractive laptop but it has a great battery life and a 3yr warranty to boot. I was a bit worried the processor / graphics card was a bit underpowered but so far no problems - I use it for work, generally running processor intensive Excel stuff; so can't really speak for those wanting to use it for gaming etc

The small flip laptops are designed for portability, you would struggle to fit the cooling for a gpu

Got now spare minute and checked what i have got on my pc..trying to compare now w540 got i7-4800mq 3.7Ghz ,32Gb ram [x4 slots] 128ssd,display 2880x1620 3K, video Quadro K2100M 2Gb
paid £349 but without Rams
with this having a HDMI port, would be it be OK to hool up to a 49" TV screen, just as a secondary from time to time?

That is solely a subjective question, it is a matter of opinion. If it is feasible and convenient to do so then go ahead, if its a hassle or you have a short temper to be plugging and unplugging a hdmi cable often then dont do it.
I love Thinkpads, worth buying an older refurb/ex office-lease one if you have kids as they take more abuse (not really relevant here, I know, but just sayin').

My X200 is still truckin' even though it's showing its age now. Still flies with Windows 10 and an SSD (but needs a fan replaced).

Apparently:

'For true mobility, add the option of WWAN connectivity. By subscribing to a third-party cellular phone service company, you can then access LTE-A networks and connect to the Internet wherever you go.'

Lenovo P52s page

Usually needs a card installing and the aerial leads (already in place) connecting up. Found this a lot in refurb Thinkpads. I mostly pulled them and installed MSata cards in instead.

Thanks for that. I assumed it was additional hardware but I didn't realise it took up space for SSD. I guess that takes up the second slot?

Might be easier to share internet via my phone (via USB).
Can anyone recommend some RAM to take this to 32gb?
Cheers purchased, also got it tracking through TCP for an extra £6
1.01% TCB as well
Very tempted to get this but from comments on here and reviews I've read & watched, it seems the graphics card is the let down.

I'm not in the slightest bothered about a webcam, so quite like the fact that you can slide it closed.

Also, the P52s is the slightly less powerful version than the P52 - is that right?

Far too many choices these days for laptop types. tablet, 2 in 1, notebook, etc etc.

Was feeling very lost and then was very close to buying this, and now not sure again.

I need min 15" screen, mainly so I have a number pad, although larger screen is helpful. Full HD IPS (not no need for 4k/UHD or touchscreen). Is there anything anywhere near this deal for quality & performance at or near this price?
