heat just for "windows 7":{

I'm not knocking your deal but these are refurbs, I realise you probably already know that, but it's not mentioned in your deal and more importantly it is not very clear on the 3000rpm page if you just use the go to deal button.

great deal as i noticedon amazon way way more over £1000 new but even refurbs mostly £500

320GB hdd space is too low

I agree 320gb too low but there is options to upgrade right up to 512gb ssd!!! Now that makes it hot hot hot

You can get a brand new T430 (only 2GB RAM) from Lenovo outlet for £439 delivered. They are very often on there for that price.

yes so its £160 more for a new one with a quarter of the memory....... plus only sometimes so not that great of a deal!!!

I'm not saying this isn't a hot deal, just pointing out that brand new is available for a small amount more and they are pretty much on there full time for the past few months so not just sometimes, for that price you will also get a 3 year warranty and memory is not that expensive. It's not like these are permanently £1k+ new, just making people aware of what this deal is worth in real terms.

A small amount more? £160 more with 6gb less ram! So in theory roughly £210 more just for warrenty, when odds are nothing will happen

...and it'd be a brand new machine. As I have already said I'm not saying this isn't a hot deal, or that it's a bad deal (and I voted hot on this one!) but that when people say these are over £1k new and £500+ for refurbs (just like earlier in this thread) that this is not the case.

If they really were a £1k laptop then this would be an extremely hot deal, but you can get them brand new for under £500 because they are previous generation, I'm just adding information to the thread.

Another tenner for 500gb hard drive sounds a good upgrade

What are 3000 rpm like to dwal with

This should be hotter. £280 for what was essentially Lenovo's top of the line business grade laptop with pretty decent specs is a good price.

The only concern is with the "XGA TFT" -- that's bound to be inaccurate since no one has done actual XGA, 4:3 aspect, displays since 2008 or so. It would've been nice to have the Lenovo machine type/model in the description so we could check the specs for ourselves.

More than likely it's WXGA i.e. 1366x768 though which is sad.

Heat added - I have missed my thinkpad T420 I had through work now that I have returned to university but simply couldn't afford to buy one . I am really tempted to buy this but jut had a question or two I hope one of you guys with a bit of laptop knowledge may be able to answer?

Should I assume that I still need to purchase Microsoft office for this laptop?

With it being a refurb, do you think the battery life is with the battery provided will be poor?

Thanks in advance
