Brand new Lenovo ThinkPad x230 from the Lenovo Outlet. Comes with free delivery and a one year warranty.

The price on these has been steadily declining in recent months; it was £600 6 weeks ago, and £550 earlier this week. This decline may be indicative of new Haswell-based ThinkPads around the corner, but if you're not dead-set on having the new chipset (and paying twice as much for one when it is released), then this seems like a great deal for a portable computer that is built like a rock!

Not sure why this isn't hotter - as OP said, built like a rock and very, very portable. I guess the spec isn't amazing for the price, but to me that's not what an X series is about...

Heat added.

Not a fan of the keyboard on these, it wasn't broken why change it. Tempting price though...

i saw x230 and read it as £230.. not so excited at 529... have some heat all the same as i cant find it cheaper

I have the same, makes a solid business laptop with good battery life. Easy to upgrade. I swapped keyboard to a backlit one & added msata SSD.

It's no ultrabook, but good value for a pro-grade laptop.

Best keyboard of any laptop. Thinkpad keyboards are legendary. You never find a better keyboard of a laptop of this size.

"8 hours and 41 minutes of battery life with the 6-cell battery. Our standard battery life test sets the screen to 70% brightness, wireless active and continuously refreshing a website on a 60-second interval, and Windows 7 set to the "balanced" power profile. With the optional nine-cell battery and the slice battery which connects to the bottom of the notebook, Lenovo claims up to 24 hours of battery time. The take away here is that the ThinkPad X230 is the king of the hill in terms of battery life."

But they got that reputation for the earlier models, and I agree they were perfect! The X230 and X1 et al have a new style - flatter - chiclet keyboard. It's not up toh the same level.

I've been using a x230, and don't find the keyboard too much of a problem in comparison to the T400, X61 etc
It is still better than many other options out there, and this laptop really is quite light weight.
