Seen this and thought it looked pretty decent price wise considering its got an SSD and a decent low end and processor. Which is probably comparable to a 4th gen i3.

  • 4GB RAM + 128GB SSD
  • 15.6" Display + DVD Writer

Probably for a while - Lenovo computers are notorious for being really shoddy IMO. If you're looking for something that's going to last you a while I would personally consider HP.

No they are very good. I have several lenovo. They update bios regularly even for old computers and provide systems update and Lenovo diagnostics. Only problems I have with them some old come with Computrace enabled and whitelists of components like WiFi cards in bios. New ones do not have those limitations. Lenovo are better many Chinese brands which do not update bios after sale.

Perhaps you have been lucky - or perhaps I have just been very unlucky. I work in IT and against our strongest recommendations when someone purchases a Lenovo laptop it's always plagued with slowness issues (sometimes even right out of the box!)

Most times consumers are illiterate not to update bios, drivers and Windows. Or just cleaning hard disks from temporary files. Nowadays most things like ssds etc comes with updates. My IT department is so stupid, keep dishing out 5 year old computers as new to keep the same image for everyone and never let us update bios by locking it down.

It has an SSD I'd assume it will be fairly quick just on that basis. I also have 2 Lenovo laptops one over 6 years old and one about 2-3 years old and neither of them has any issues of slowness both have ssds

HP for longevity? Not heard that one before! I think all brands are fairly even on reliability. My HP laptops motherboard died within a year whereas my Acer that’s 8 years old is still fine. Seems pot luck really.
Fujitsu laptops for office work are great. Design is dull but accessibility, general build quality etc. You can't go wrong.

No experience with Lenovo laptops myself but every HP laptop myself or my family have gotten has broken down, usually due to issues with overheating. I'm also yet to see Lenovo not do well in customer satisfaction polls/ laptop review scores comparing brands.
