Because higher capacity SSDs cost much more.

128gb is around £50 256gb around £75 so not really.

I've been looking for a decent laptop in the £300-350 range with a solid processor and SSD. This really seems to tick all my boxes. Anything I should be worried about?

That's true. We buyers are just being swindled, aren't we?

Same thing you'd get with any laptop in this price range, the fact it's cheap means corners have probably been cut somewhere...

Before he got ill my dad bought a 320 and after light use the hard drive failed and since then the writing is wearing off the keys already

Why would anyone criticize Ebuyer? - "Powered by cutting-edge AMD processors, the Lenovo V110 has the memory, storage, and graphics to meet your computing needs as the business moves forward."

They are small because storage these days is in the 'cloud'

I know, but I'm not going to spent more for what I'll need it for. You can always buy quicker, lighter, and have a better screen. The processor looks good, and the SSD should mean it's nice and nippy. I'm not too fussed about the screen as I'm not using it for gaming and streaming. Am I overlooking anything?

yeah i get that but what happens when you have no internet or google decides not to let you have access to your docs etc, that happened last week! This paltry storage is what makes these things basically a waste of time

Why the negativity? It's not for you for whatever reason but that doesn't make it "a waste of time" for others. I've even labelled it as "a cheap little machine for web browsing and the like" which is essentially what it is.

FWIW I’ve checked with eBuyer and it is an i5, not the AMD mentioned in the description.

no negativity at all, just stating that 128gb is measly for this price.

I know your the OP but the opinions on here and whether we "think" its hot or not isnt going to be changed by you trying to defend the deal at every opportunity... its our opinion.....

So you're expecting 256GB of solid state drive AND an i5 for £350?! LOL. Trying to defend the deal at every opportunity? It was my first reply! No negativity at all? You said it was a waste of time! Thanks Phil.

The only negative is probably screen resolution 1366 x 768. It doesn't bother everyone, but can limit the vertical view in some packages. I know some people insist on full HD, but I've always found 1600x900 is a nice balance on 15" screens.

A laptop this price with SSD and Intel Core i5-7200U will rarely come with Full HD screen. It's a compromise at this price point.

You could opt for 1Tb mechanical drive and Full HD screen here:

It offers great value still, if you can find anything that offers similar value but with more storage capacity then post it. Yeah sure you have a point but at this price I'm not sure it's that's relevant. You're not going to get a Ferrari for the price of a Fiat are you?.

SAY NO TO 1366x768 ON LAPTOPS, at any price

Hot. Great CPU and SSD. The SSD is a bit small but only an issue if you've going to be downloading loads of pics, music, films. The screen is usable unless you must have FullHD.
