Just bought this for work - seems a great prize for an i7 machine. HDD could be bigger, but will be fine for what we need.

The display opens 180 degrees, making it simple to share and collaborate, or just get comfortable with your laptop at the angle you want. And with stereo speakers and Dolby Audio no matter what you’re listening to, it's sure to sound as good as it looks.

Think outside the cubicle

The full-sized, ergonomic keyboard on the V130 was engineered for comfort and typing accuracy. The large touchpad makes it even easier to be productive wherever you are—no mouse required—and the one-piece design looks sleek. This keyboard is also spill-resistant, so you can go about your business without concern for the little mishaps of daily life.

Built for business, tested for life

V Series laptops undergo reliability and durability checks to ensure they run smoothly for years to come. From withstanding shocks and vibrations to enduring the rigors of daily handling. From hinge-life testing to fan reliability, operating temperatures, pressure tests, and more. We know your PC can impact your livelihood, so we make sure your V130 will last. And last.

Laugh at would-be hackers

We know how important your information is. That's why the V130 features Trusted Platform Module (TPM), which works in conjunction with Windows 10. Together they encrypt all your data, as well as your passwords. What's more, this laptop has a privacy cover for your webcam—so you’ll never need to worry about being spied on.

I'm pretty out of touch with all things pc but looks a good deal to me.
Link doesn`t work.
Link doesn’t seem to be working
Such suggestive link, fix OP plz

(Edit: fixed)

All I can add is that eBay code expires tomorrow midnight. No backlit keyboard, 1.8kg a bit on heavy side, only drawbacks at quick glance

Link works for me. But LOL and roll eyes. I got the Acer deal posted by Win and intended to keep it and maybe BF would throw a better deal and i could return it but hell...I don't think I can be bothered to do much research as nothing appears to be easy to suss out with laptops.

Heres some info from the link tho

Unless you want the DVD drive or are an AMD hater, I'd probably go with this for £349

Benchmarks for the CPUs seem pretty similar. Am I missing something?

The deal from Win26 was for a laptop that you could add two sticks of std laptop memory into - poss upto 32gb worth if not 16gb, plus you could add in another sata drive. These things are not always easy to discover but they are the reasons I went with that. Dunno about this one. Not got the inclination to try and delve into yet another laptop. All take time even to find out their model number or exact specs, hidden upgrades etc

The magic characters
"i7"
often beguile but obscure the old tech under the bonnet:
a 10th Gen i3-1005G1 Dell at PCW is 16% faster
than this 7th Gen i7-7500U
for £64 more atm.

i7 processors, on the whole, may draw more power too which is definitely not a good idea in a laptop.

They're all 15W TDP processors, that's not relevant here.

Thank you for pointing that out. £415 for 7th gen i7 (dual-core) is not a deal for anyone but Lenovo and Ebuyer the Ryzen 5 Lenovo V155 at £315 is a much better buy, it's a real quad-core with decent integrated graphics too and £100 less (hotukdeals.com/dea…917). Nothing wrong with this laptop itself but it's overpriced and it's an i7 for the sake of it - for all intents it's an overclocked i5-7300U.

i5-8250U (real quad) is actually faster than this i7-7500U:

Well excuse me for backing up your broader point about not being beguiled by the i7 badge.
I would stay away from laptops with 2core cpus...
7500u is not really much different from 6500u or 5500u or 4500u that came out 6 years ago...

i5-8250U should be the minimum these days..

Well the i7-7500U shouldn't use noticeably more power than the i5-7300U or any other 15W TDP CPU. Just saying 'i7 draws more power' isn't true... we're not talking about HK or HQ series chips with higher power requirements.
