Tell me what this £200 Laptop can't do.
Will it struggle on Browsing??? NO
Will it struggle on youtube?? NO
Will it struggle on Office?? NO
Will it struggle on Emails?? NO
Will it struggle on 1080p films?? NO

I'm curious as to what you lot genuinely do on your computers, I'm on a £1000 MacBook and barely ever use 10% of it's CPU processor.

With SSD this will have no problems actioning any of the above.
Truly dreadful cpu but at this money for the rest of the spec not bad
Great price but god awful processor.

Anybody deserves something better then this. Fork out the extra cost and just get a refirb laptop off Ebay for a bit more but much faster.

couple of quid for a licence of ebay. Had loads work fine. You will need access to a computer to create media to install . Can get this straight off Microsoft or you could install a Linux distro
What does this CPU compare to?

Thanks tacavas, I'll not be a laptop virgin soon.
I looked at this but the processor is 2 years old ended up getting a HP with Ryzen 3 and full back up for £239 from Currys thought it was much better deal.

They've done that to hide how bad the CPU is. Honestly, it is utterly appalling - that's probably why so many companies are struggling to get rid of these and basically fire-selling them. Just pay a bit more and step up to a Ryzen 3 or even 5 and it'll last years rather than months.

2 years old isn't the problem, it's that it was ridiculously slow when new. Ryzen 3 is so far removed from this it's not even funny. £239 for a Ryzen 3 is a bargain.

After reading the comments on the old thread people are massively bashing the CPU on this thing. I've ordered it already as I dont need it for anything taxing but do any of you fine folk know of anything better for the same price or less? It's easy to post higher spec higher price stuff, I'm genuinely interested. I'm a computer novice btw. Thank you in advance

I wasn’t bashing just said I got a bargain in Currys all clearance stock it’s worth having look round them.

I was referring to comments on the old deal mate. As I said I've purchased it, I'm just genuinely interested if theres better bang for your buck out there

A well oiled potato

Yes it was potato o'clock when AMD pressed this one off the production line. It used to be that you required a passmark of 2,000 to be at least bearable real world usage, so this is just above that threshold. It will have better GPU performance than older CPUs, but it's definitely a budget performing CPU.

cpubenchmark.net/cpu…315

Having said this, I would be surprised if this laptop was painfully slow, for general usage it should be alright. I wouldn't buy it but each to their own, for just over 200 hundred smackers, if you have to then you have to.

I'd erase FreeDOS from this laptop and stick Linux Mint, Ubuntu or POP_OS on it and it'll probably be alright

I have the A6 in an HP laptop,it's ok for everyday stuff, browsing, youtube iplayer, photos, downloading music and movies...I mainly use it for music storage/loading up the mp3 player and burning the odd disc....you get what you pay for,I wouldn't say it's useless, mine was £299 over two years ago with Windows 10 installed.

Install CloudReady OS for free and you'd have a fairly good spec Chromebook.

Very easy to install.

This has SSD and 8gb ram so should be good
Don't forget add gaming mouse for 2.99 and save on delivery
The processor is perfectly fine for browsing and office type programs, especially with an ssd and 8gb ram. Have these ever arrived in stock though? Every time I look these are always due in?
Chrome OS this 💪

I to am wondering what people expect this machine to do well.
Render hi res Photoshop projects? No
Render Movie projects on Premier No
Play New 3D games @ 100 FPS No
Office ? I imagine so
Browse I imagine so

I do not really use a laptop much I do keep one for researching problems and fault diagnosis of networks etc on site and it is a Dell D630 from 2007 with an old T7250 with 4GB ram and a 120 GB SSD that does all the basic computing I need plus plays video just fine if ever I want to so this will be better than that and also fine
