First time posting a deal, apologies if i get it wrong.
I've been looking for a new laptop for my son. I don't want to spend over £400. I spotted this one and looked good for the price, to my untrained eye. Please comment and let me know and hopefully it will be of use to someone.

  • AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 2GHz
  • 8GB DDR4 + 256GB SSD
  • 14" Full HD + AMD Radeon

1920 x 1080 per the description in the link

Err.. I checked. everywhere it says full HD.

Can anyone confirm?
Tech specs on the site say 1920 x 1080 (Full HD
It's weird, product description says 1366x768 but techincal specs says full HD
Good deal. Fast CPU, 8GB RAM 256GB SSD.
EDIT: this could be 1,366 × 768 HD. 2 models with same code V330-14ARR
Edited by: "Musicrab" 17th Nov 2018
I think there are two different models. It might be worth messaging them to check.
Has anyone found out? Regarding screen?
It seems to be contradicting.
Display
Product description says this
  • 14" diagonal LED-backlit, Anti Glare
  • Resolution: 1366 x 768
Tech spec says this.

DisplayType
14"LCD
Backlight Technology
LED backlight
Resolution1920 x 1080 (Full HD)
Widescreen Yes
Features Anti-glare
This model can come in either 720p or 1080p screen

Ebuyer's page says both but says 1080p more often
If you can forgive the awful displays that Lenovo put in their basic business laptops it's a good deal.
The optional additional battery would put it in line with other competitors like Dell and HP in this price range, but you'd be giving up weight. As it stands, the single battery will be about half of what you can expect from other brands.

If it's 1920x1080 this looks good to me.
anyone got a reply from. ebuyer regarding if full hd or half hd?

Facebook page takes a day to respond. I sent a msg anyway but will prob be too late.
81B1001EUK = FHD.
The only question now is if there is another laptop that is this thin/light which balances the CPU/GPU performance and price this well.

The problem is that at this price range you will always give up something, and it's more about what weaknesses you can live with.
For example, this laptop:

Pros:

CPU
RAM
Storage
Weight

Cons

Display (although 1080p it has poor viewing angles, bad in sunlight, low brightness and below average colour reproduction)
Battery
Chassis flex

I find it's a good idea to go to a shop and check out the build quality of the models on display. You'll get a good idea of keyboard travel, touchpad quality and display. The only problem here is that this is a business laptop and not something you'll find in a physical shop.

Aye very true and I agree, for me I am looking for something for 2 months while I am away from my desktop. Rimworld, FM 19, some sports etc. The next step up for me is mx150/1050/960m so I am weighing up will any of them come down close to this.
Its all relative like you said.
Bezels are as big as I've seen which might be a factor for some
1080p and good ryzen apu for under 400 and good sized laptop from reputable brand. Have some heat! Nice find newcomer! I would check ram speed only as will limit cpu somewhat if slow - checked now, not bad for laptop. Great deal for price

Yes! Thought I would bite, but looking at the bezels, I'm not so sure... Voted hot though...
For those buying it and want more information (There's not much to go by on youtube) - here's the technical manual:

Is it actually full HD? Technical specs and description say 1080p but the other description says it's not.

Also does anyone know how may hours that battery would get?

Don't know about battery but it looks like its full HD. As RiverDragon stated, the code is 81B1001EUK and if you search for this all sites list it as full HD. Shame there's no Lenovo spec sheet (that I could find) for 81B1001EUK
PS. technoworld are the same price and highly recommended if you dislike Ebuyer.

It's a TN panel

The battery will get you around 5 hours of light usage on low brightness. The panel will be 1080p. It is mixed because some V330s have 720p display, but the Ryzen 5 version with 8gb RAM and 256gb SSD is 1080p
Edited by: "drasim" 18th Nov 2018
Shame about a TN panel
Vouchercodes.co.uk are also offering
Free £20 M&S Voucher with Orders Over £200 at Ebuyer. This reduces the overall cost of the laptop to £379.99
I just bought this one too for my brother HEAT +

Whoever quoted TN please link source asap

Google the model number and you'll see a few Czech and Slovakian sites which state the panel is TN - which makes sense as that is the same as the rest of the V330 range.

According to the technical manual I posted yesterday there are part numbers which seem to match IPS displays if you want to fit one yourself.

Dreadful screen review here laptopmag.com/rev…330
Cancelled my order in the end, but if you can get around the poor screen then it's really good.
