Another well priced laptop using the current eBay 20% off code.
It gets you an 8th Gen i5 with 8GB RAM alongside a 256GB SSD. There is a dedicated Radeon 530 2GB which will allow you to game on it too.

Little tip for running games - if you're struggling with frame rates, on some laptops it's worth turning off Intel Turbo boost, which may help with any thermal throttling, You can do that in the bios

Use code PARTY for this price

This is what most of the people in my old office used. The keyboard is very good, i can type as fast on it as on my mechanical keyboard at home.

Fingerprint reader is also very reliable.
Nice find

Good point sumpter. No use having great specs with a crappy screen.

I don't know. Would be nice if an owner could comment.

If you put the words "Lenovo v330, TN panel" into Google it confirms it has it.
Whether it's got this specific model I'm not sure.
Does this come with Win10? Doesn't mention anywhere..

It is TN and only around 200 nits I’ve read but at sub-£400 you’re going to have compromises given you get all the other key specs: proper quad-core, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD and discrete graphics (though largely useless entry-level for 2013). The Ryzen 5 model of this same machine is similar performance and cheaper.

Thanks plewis00.

Personally, I'd rather have IPS at the expense of easily up-gradable components like SSD & RAM which can be upgraded later. Once you've got a crappy TN screen, your pretty much stuck with it. All the guys on ebay/amazon offering screen upgrades never give you what you want and deal in seconds which have dead pixels etc.

V330 specs PDF link here
psref.lenovo.com/sys…pdf

220 nits Screen. Not IPS (which are normally 250 nits on other Ideapads like 330s with FHD screens) Probably 'dim' SVA screen found on other Lenovos.

Yes you’re right but I don’t think the manufacturers will do an IPS-equipped machine with everything else low-spec at this price range. I agree, the ones you get on eBay are fine for fixing broken machines but seem to be seconds a lot of the time - I had the same issue with a 14” IPS full HD panel, it has a weird shadow/mark on it that I didn’t notice and now it’s long out of warranty, seller unresponsive. For the price it’s ok. This laptop is probably fine for the majority as-is though, a good all rounder.
Looking at one of these with the Radeon 2GB and maybe the i7, hooked up to an external screen. Literally just want it for occaisonal use and a bit of "Beamng Drive" gaming for my son. Any good?

Don't know Cider. You need to do some homework into understanding whether that Radeon can handle Beaming Drive.

Usually Lenovo displays are pretty bad.

The Matebook D deal on Amazon from a few days ago was a better deal than this.
Nice find!

Thanks mate... just wondered if anyone had any real world experience of this combo with this game... Currently running on an Elitebook 840 G5 and it works, bit chuggy and quick to worsen when a few cars are on - but its only a UHD 620 and I think just 128MB!!

No problem, if you can run the game on a UHD 620 then any sort of dedicated GPU will probably be an upgrade. Like I said, time to do some homework.
Be careful as the feedback states they often cancel orders. I had my tablet order cancelled this morning too by this seller, yet there was 9 available at my point of purchase.
Would rather just take an i7 instead of the i5+radeon 530+fingerprint reader

Someone said on here that only 14” is good and it also has to be a Ryzen 5 never rate anything else!!!!
Good spec. Good price. Just ugly

It's only a slight improvement over the UHD 620 which shares system RAM, the Radeon 530 is a 720p low settings GPU.
Mmmm, in that case I think I need to revise my budget..
TN panels should be avoided at all costs .
Cheap as @NeoTrix good spot, as the inferior spec model, is more on their site than this one is on eBay!

Going like hotukdealscakes again...

This seems a really good deal with the only hangup being the panel. Is it fair to say that for someone who would be using purely for office work, it wouldnt be an issue?

I know its probably overkill but it seems most office/productivity laptops are either notebooks with small screens 14” or less or extremely expensive. Asking for a family member

What else would it come with?

You can clearly see it's Windows 10 in the image and it mentions it in the post under features.

I primarily use my laptops for office work and browsing and I would always go for an IPS monitor .
Its worth paying that bit extra .
Backlight blew for no reason, never getting Lenovo again
Avoid Lenovo at all costs. I work for a company who supplied Lenovo laptops to students and we've never seen such a high volume of repairs come back to us. Their customer service is also the worst I've seen. We switched to HP as a supplier, MUCH better
I’ve had a Lenovo yoga for work - thrown into a soft bag every day, lugged around to death and has performed impeccably - no issues at all with functionality or build quality.

Also, if I have to suffer another laptop thread with tens upon tens of screen snob comments I think I’ll die. It’s sub £400 for a reason - something has to give
Please don't buy a Lenovo with a TN panel you will regret it for years like I have done. Mine is awful.
What everyones saying about the Lenovo screen really puts my Lenovo screen problems into perspective. I've got a Lenovo V130 and it truly is awful. It's not even something that can be considered to be a fault so the seller and Lenovo can't do anything. It's just the screen that's like that. Quite terrible.

Homework done - I've gone and bought a Medion Erazer x6805 instead!! 6GB GTX 1060 should cope just fine and then some... Time to sell the HP!

Yes, that GPU will cope with no problems. Well done Cider. Be sure to give us a mini review in a few weeks for the benefit of others.

Yep - but what price a happy smiling son (and Dad) playing BeamNG.drive?
