10pct works? I thought he small print at very said not for computing.

is it a tn or ips panel?

What settings are you playing dying light on? What sort of frame rate do you get?

most things aren't high, but I turned off the film grain effect and motion blur. not sure on the frame rate but it's not jolting at all and everything is smooth

how do you find the screen as the reviews say it is awful

TN in this model there is a 4k ips model but it's £1000. In my opinion the screen is pretty good. My only complaint is the trackpad

the Asus has an ips panel

I don't think the screen is bad at all. I have a 1080p ips monitor and I don't see much difference really although I'm no expert. I looked at the reviews before buying it and 80% of the time it will be hooked up to an external monitor. If it bothered you so much there is a tutorial to change the screen to a 1080p ips screen. but as I said I don't think it's bad at all.

Cool - thanks for feedback. I probably get too hung up on reviews. you tried any other games?

That is exactly my problem haha. Just fifa 15 at the minute, that plays at ultra with no problems but the could play on integrated graphics.

Isn't it worth paying £30 more for 4gb of extra RAM memory and an extra 2gb of GPU ram (http://www.very.co.uk/lenovo-y50-70-intelreg-coretrade-i7-processor-16gb-ram-1tb-hard-drive-8gb-ssd-wi-fi-156-inch-laptop-with-4gb-dedicated-graphics-black/1409812074.prd)? But this one doesn't seem to have the 10% Buy Now Pay Later option

But you can get a 4gb RAM stick fairly cheaply now and from what I have read there is very little difference in the 2gb and 4gb 860m. Do you think this would play witcher 3 on say medium settings?

it really doesn't need the extra 4gb ram! 12gb is probbably overkill. Yeah I would say so as it plays dying light on pretty high settings.

The £40 off excludes sale items and this laptop appears to be on sale. Anyone tried the code yet?

Yes it works as I ordered one

Nice one

If you're looking for a similar machine with gtx 860m , i7 but also IPS fhd screen, then there's a better deal here:
hotukdeals.com/dea…890 - £744

Bought one of the previous deals with Very and the laptop had already been opened, the screen had a dead pixel on it, the trackpad was also faulty and video's played very sluggish. Was a nightmare to return as they "don't except returns on laptops", spent hours on the phone going mental about it. Ended up just sending it back and got it sorted. I would have no confidence to use this company again. How can you be assured your getting new and not ex-catalogue? Are these slight fault cast off's from Lenovo? A number of people have now reported the same issues with open boxes!
