Update - price rose to £715 within hours, and is now £747 after code. Still a decent price frankly, but not quite the redhot exception it was at the start.

Use the code CHEAT10 to get the 10% discount required for the price.

By no means perfect, and I'm generally an advocate of custom-builds through and through, but an i5 build with a GTX1070 for £692 is currently about as good as you can get, given the cheapest GTX1070 I can find is £515 (that's £177 for the rest of the rig!)

Great deal, and highlighting that pre-builts are the best value for gamers who need to buy now.

  • Intel Core i5 6400 Processor
  • GeForce GTX 1070 Graphics card
  • 8 GB RAM
  • Windows 10 Operating System
  • 1TB Hard Drive
  • No optical storage Optical Drive
  • 1 year warranty
  • Tower Desktop Form Factor
Community Updates
Laptops Direct have increased the base price to £799, using the code
CHEAT10 still brings the price down to a bargain £719!

Difference if you swop out the CPU & GPU for those that asked.

You should pair this GPU with a CPU with more than 4 cores. Also an SSD drive is a boon these days for quick OS booting, even a small one just for the OS.I have a GTX 1070 and had it paired with an i5 6600 and it was apparent that that CPU wasn't cutting it in modern games as it ran near 100% a lot of the time. Assasin's creed origins, flat out 100%. It did play them O.K but could tell the CPU was letting the side down so a i5 6400 would be worse.I now have it paired with a i7 6700K 8 thread (none overclocked) and this looks like the right powered CPU for a GTX 1070 for future proofing.

Compared to most of the that normally gets sold by the sheds for £1,000. This machine is a beast @ less than £700.

Heated! Amazing price considering the price of gpus now.
Outrageous price. Heat
This has a full fledged 1070 in there for that price?
Not bad for a first post, right?

What games can this run? Is it worth getting this to be able to play fortnite / overwatch at max settings with decent fps

I’m maxing games out at 1440p and 4K in some games with this same graphics card and an i5 4670 (much older than this CPU). You should have no problems playing those games at 1440p 60fps.
Any idea if this would have room for another GPU, so option to SLI in 2 years time?

Will run anything out there very well thanks to that GTX1070 and the CPU is perfectly decent too. Only thing I might have ideally liked to see is another 8GB and an SSD but both are easily added and can't be expected in this price range.

If I had the spare cash I'd be buying this for sure, don't suppose they do BNPL?

Good looking out mate. I was just in the process of posting it at the time, but glad to see you had my back regardless
This is a fantastic deal, took much more to build mine of a similar spec less than a year ago. If you can cram this whole thing into a laptop i'll buy it for 700

This card alone makes this deal worthy.
Hot.
sorry to say that, but apart actual graphic card inside, all the rest is rubbish....

Appreciate what you are stating here but let's not forget this is a site for posting good deals. This is a gaveaway and will suit someone on a lower budget for now.
A PC gamer will never buy, they alway build their own, it's good price but come on Ur gona spend more time with pc then ur family

I can’t build a pc, I can barely hold a screwdriver, let alone use one. Now I want a decent gaming PC without the pre-built price, what do I do....? Other than whistle
Urgh. Paid £860 for this in October last year.

I thought the same but it's hard to go wrong... most items are plug in (colour coded), wear a static band to protect the MB, the hardest part is installing the OS so keep a spare disc reader from an old pc and install with a preloaded copy of Windows (or alternative) as the USB drivers won't be installed. I've got faith in you....

Considering the state SLI is in now days it's a better idea to up the GPU entirely than get another 1070.

You can play fortnite on a 1050Ti at 60fps.
This has triple the CUDA (1920 vs 768) cores and double the Vram...
You can max it out at 4k and get more than 60fps... you should be fine.
Even pubg will look and play great in such system.

I am someone who had SLI for years and just gave up on it on this last generation.
Unless you're using your gpus for anything other than gaming, SLI is just not worth it. It's much better to sell and upgrade.
SLI compatibility with games is dependent on the developer and on Nvidia and that field has just been slowing down more and more...
It's imcompatible with a LOT of games by creating more issues than fps. (pCars, PUBG, GTA V, I had more stable fps than running a 980 sli.
The gain is not 200% but mostly 160%.
Not compatible with VR...
Also, this CPU will be the bottleneck in this system since the 1070 is a really good card. No way this cpu will really take advantage of a 1070sli...

For resolutions higher than 1080p (which the 1070 excels at), the load is taken off the processor.

I'd be very comfortable pairing the 1070 with the i5 for 1440p gaming
