Not sure what I'm missing here. (is it an Aprils fool from Amazon) ??

It includes the newish 1080 Nvidia Card - I have been on chat to confirm spec - most similar systems seem to come in around £2000.

The specs below the description mention a different card - that's why I went on chat to confirm.

Seems a good price to me - relatively easy to upgrade as well.

Review here from last month in 1080 config.

This is a bargain ..amazon give huge discount .dont they?
I wouldn't hold my breath on it being the 1080... Only the title that mentions it, multiple other places mention the 980

Style Name: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM GTX 980 graphics

Hi - quick update - it was just delivered this morning.

It doesn't say on the outside of the box which graphics card is in the system.

So I opened it up - luckily the side comes off the pc really easily to allow access to the internal components - its just a slide switch - no tools needed.

And it is indeed a GTX 1080 - it says so on top of the card !!

And its 16 gig ram.

So - not a bad buy for the price.

Very pleased to be honest.

That is an excellent price for what you got. Managed to snag an Alienware R5 on Dell's outlet for similar money with similar specs (32gb ram and 512gb ssd but same processor and GPU). Was a scratch and dent unit and indeed there are quite a few marks though doesn't bother me as it's situated under my desk. If I hadn't just got that for £1230 I'd buy this. Voted hot.

I'm not that knowledgeable about PC's to be honest.

I come to this from a 4 year old Lenovo K430 desktop - which has been bulletproof and was sourced from here for around £499 - its a i7 with 2tb but only a GT630 graphics card.

I did look at trying to upgrade the card - power supply etc but apparently they are "non standard" - so that will be relegated to my home office machine - and the new one will be my main unit.

Now if its such a good buy - why has it been voted cold ??

mainly as people compare PRE-BUILT to DIY builds (and the confusion about which the GPU is included). DIY builds are usually cheaper and with better components, but as technology advances every 3-4mths what is "top spec" now soon won't be. overall this PC is quite decent, but to get a better GPU is more cost effective

Hi

What would be a better GPU than the 1080 on offer here (apart from the 1080ti) ?

Probably because it cost more than £1k and people here can't afford that so automatically vote cold. It is a good deal and I can't see anything that comes near to this around the same price point unless you're lucky and get a good deal on Dell's outlet for an Aurora R5 like I did, but those deals are few and far between. Again, nice find
