Good Gracious Me, an Idiot.
GGMI seems to troll all the compact laptop threads saying how much better Xiaomi is. Not worth arguing with as they seem to find faster processors, UK keyboards, better screens and warranties minor considerations.
The Lenovo 9 series hinge is one of a kind. Xiaomi laptops may be cheaper but they're not available from any reputable retailers and so warranty will be ambiguous.

Nope not because you have an opinion, we're all entitled to one of them but because you seem to spend your life digging out every laptop deal on here actually.

Me - wait for eight.
I see GGMIs comments have been removed? Along with the troll?
Unusual too see 4k formats. Whilst this does seem a little pricier than normal, it does look like a tidy laptop.

Is it me, or will the icons (even in "large icon mode") be absolutely tiny?
Would this run the Adobe suite well? Premiere pro and Photoshop? I know nothing about computer specs!! 🙈🙈
I think for this price range these ultradbooks of all makes really need to be coming with 512 SSD's nowadays.

Turn on scaling, you can use this as if it were any other 14" 1080p laptop.

As awesome as this laptop is otherwise, it doesn't have Thunderbolt 3 which is the killer for me. I think the following generation with an 8th gen CPU does.

It will be more than adequate to run those programmes, However bare in mind that this is running Intel HD graphics, and doesn't have separate graphic card capacity so you will be fine opening images and messing around with them individually on the machine, however do not attempt to run lots of photo's simultaneously as you might run into capacity issues.

Hope this helps
Having 4K on a laptop is overkill for the average user. Better off going full hd and saving some cash and a few hours battery life per charge.

Good job that this laptop isn't aimed at the "average user" then is it? lol.
This is a pretty decent spec quality laptop that competes with Apple (also very high res screens).

The argument about xxx resolution being overkill for xxx device is tired and old. Matter of preference, people have different opinions on the internet... who'd have thunk it?

erm, cool laptop, bro
What's the point of 4k resolution on a laptop screen, given that you'd have to be viewing the screen from a distance closer than the eye can actually focus (<3") to resolve any additional detail compared to 1080p?

It's actually pretty relevant considering that battery life is one of the most important things on a laptop.

You do notice it. I'd prefer a 4K screen on a laptop because I refuse to buy laptops with a resolution lower than my phone, which is about 2.5k now. I mean you don't 'need' it, but photos and text will look a whole load sharper.

What an unpleasant keyboard warrior, you must be miserable in your life to be vexated about a posting on a message board. I will go away though, want nothing to do with trolls like you.

I'm fine, me. I'm not the person who came onto a thread and posted something dismissing the current deal and suggesting something completely irrelevant. I don't think you quite understand the definition of a 'troll'. But ok. Go about your day, hope its a pleasent one.

Well in that case its a good thing you can choose between running it as 4k or 1080 and get the relevant battery benefits (10/15hrs respectively).
To be fair 10 hours is still a great battery life for a laptop to be fair. 15 is great. Unless you're going to for a desktop replacement sort of laptop and battery life is probably not so much of an important factor.
At first glance I thought this was a clothes horse
I managed to get the refurb Yoga 3 Core M processor version last year for £400. Has the same hinge and is a fantastic little laptop. If this is also the fanless/silent version then should be awesome.
Can anyone recommend something a bit like this but nearer £500? When I was asking that troll for a link I was being genuine

Search for xiaomi air on HotUKDeals and you'll find a few threads. In my view, it is weak in too many areas and so you might be better with a refurbished dell. However, that's for you to decide.
gah; if this had 16GB RAM I'd be all over it
