Lenovo Z50 15.6 Inch AMD FX7500 8GB 1TB Laptop - Black

remember this was hot months ago on Amazon warehouse deal at 229 I think.
This is brand new at 249.
I had been looking at entry level around 200 - this has AMD R7 graphics which is perfect for me (tested with old Call of Duty & Counter Strike source so far and runs fine).
Quite fairly quick so far so good.

If purchased can you confirm what the screen resolution is. Full hd or not?. Thanks

This was posted on Xmas day. Seems to be some debate as to whether it is FHD or not. Have one reserved for pick up today but might not bother if not FHD.

Hi, can you tell us if it is FHD screen or 1366x768 as it sounds like you've already got it up and running. As said earlier in the thread, there has been some confusion over the screen quality

I'll confirm for you seeing as I bought this streaming pile of #### yesterday. This is NOT fhd. Mine's going back today.

Why is FHD seemingly so uncommon? I've been on the look out for a FHD laptop with decent specs that doesn't cost the world and it just doesn't exist.

Do you really expect a half decent spec pc with FHD for less than £250?

Seems strange considering you can get 4k tvs so cheap and you can't even get 1080p laptops.

seems very strange, haven't seen these for ages

dont buy this laptop for gaming it said only 3.43gb of useable RAM out of 8GB. not great!! also it seemed a bit slow and sluggish at times but that may have been because it was running for the first day or something. overall probs good for general use, web browing, email and word etc. but defo not a great gaming or high performing laptop

are you seriously comparing cheap crappy 4k panels to laptops? a decent 4k tv is around £700-£800 for a 40-43 inch. when you start moving up to 55 inch a decent 4k tv is around £1500-£2500.

basically you cannot complain about a cheap laptop or compare it to a cheap tv screen. i know the tv i want isn't cheap being a 4k OLED. i could buy 20 of these laptops for instance for 1 tv

Who in their right mind expects a great gaming or high performing laptop for £250?!?

Everyone on this site is obsessed with FHD screens! - If you want the best, go and pay for it!

I have got this laptop, surprisingly snappy cpu, far better than I expected from ulv. Also the speakers are worth mentioning - very good. The rest of it is very 'budgety' but absolutely fine at this price point. Not for gaming though, well optimised diablo 3 is jerky as hell @ even low settings.

Bought this laptop from Amazon and sent it back. the screen is truly appalling.

Sounds like only 32bit version of Windows is installed. Reinstall Windows in 64bit mode and easily fixed.

I upvoted your deal. Hubby has ordered this for collection at our local Argos tomorrow. He used Quidco to track it too.

I want a laptop that is good for word processing and running Spotify. This any good?

Got this from the amazon deal as a starter pc for the little un.
For the money i`m really impressed.

runs farcry 3 at max settings and no slowdown in game
runs pro evo 2017 at medium detail at quite a rapid pace.

Installed the usual free antivirus , firewall and a few other bits an pieces and still running fine.

Fine. It's actually a step up from i3 imho. Runs fast enough for most things and yet runs cool and quiet as well.

hi again - sorry if repost - only thread I could see was the older one from Amazon.
Just to confirm it's not FHD - 1366 x 768. can't really expect FHD at this price but I am really impressed for the price - laptop is thin light & quiet with bonus of entry level gaming capability. note it's not advertised or expected as a gaming laptop but then it would be 500+ at least.

Exactly, and this is only a 15" screen. Must be very cheap to manufacture a passable screen for a laptop.

I bought this on Prime Day from Amazon back in the summer for £269.99 and I've been very happy with it. It IS full HD, but it's optional and you have to enable it in the AMD settings.

Right click>AMD Radon Settings>Display>Set Virtual Super Resolution ON

You then right-click on the desktop and go to display settings/advanced display settings and set it to 1920 x 1080.

Errr you do know what Virtual Super Resolution is - right? It simply renders the game at a higher resolution and then scales it back down to the native resolution which in this case is 1366x768 - the laptop does NOT have a 1920 x 1080 screen.

Whatever the technicalities may be, the option to have the display at 1920 x 1080 IS there. It's debatable whether they should advertise it as 'Full HD', yes.

The display quality is good, and this is an excellent laptop for £250. I use mine mostly for music production and am really happy with it. My last one for this purpose was an HP Pavilion with very similar specs that I bought mid-2015 - it felt like a toy compared to this one. It's well-made and nice and light.

This is tech, no technicalities display at 1920 x 1080 is NOT possible. It's not debatable this is NOT 'Full HD'. listen to BrookHeather I hear she is very talented.
