Great for those not on 02 or who missed the PC World deal. Woolworths are an approved dealer on the Lenovo cashback scheme.

Not sure but I think the z50 referred to is the same as the Z50-70. They are a little light on specs, especially the Hard Drive. If this is the SSHD as well then I am chuffed!

Lenovo are running scheme for purcahses made before tomorrow (or maybe including)

Sounds good

haha haven't noticed anything about Woolworths in ages.

Heads up.. this is coming up as an Amazon lightening deal as well.. Currently showing as £566.88 but will be less with the lightening price

I was looking at it earlier and noted that this is dual core i7. Not the best processor. Considering the rest of the spec anything over £350 does not sound like a good deal for this.

Do you know of any quad core i7's around this price? I am struggling to find them

No mate I dont.
If you need one right now and you think the price is right then by all means go for it. I bought a brand new quad core i7 from currys last year for £399 in a reduction deal.

If all you want is a dual core then you could buy a Lenovo G510 from amazon for £299 which is also an "M" processor and not the lower "U" like this one - BTW I am not saying this £299 is a good deal, just giving an example.

Every now and then you will see a dual core i3 for around £250, factor in a bigger HDD, RAM and graphics card and in my opinion £350 is what I would consider a good price with these specs.

It's 499 which means no VAT back offer as it has to be 500+, this is still the best deal

hows everyne getting vat back?

Has to be over £500. However the VAT back ends tomorrow so it might be a good ish deal getting this with minimal hassle

Managed to snarf it in the amazon deal - thanks for that. But am not going to purchase. This is the "i3" version of an i7 and seems to max out at 8GB RAM.

The y70 is the ideal machine.

COLD.....not pick n mix.

I bought the i5 version from PC World today, £499.99 -£50 Diesel (Morrisons) - £83.33 Cashback

Total £366.66, Not sure the i7 version is worth an extra £116

Well he's not getting it from Lenovo that's for sure. Clearly states minimum £500 spend for that deal.

Oooops. Looks like PCW are getting a mouthful tomorrow, the sales rep told me it comes with cashback as well as a sticker being on the display model.

I actually had the same thing, after much deliberation I bought the lenovo z50_70 i5 which is now advertised at £499.99. I had to call lenovo to check and they said had it to be £500 or more and not a penny less, and the FAQ on their website said no voucher codes could be used with the offer so I didn't use the O2 priority code.

The guy in pc world was really nice and did a price override to £500, still makes it £415 after cashback which is good. Maybe see if u can return it and they sell it back for £500 on the dot. I've been using it tonight and it's an awesome laptop!

The awkward moment when you ask to pay more for your items.
Only on HUKD.

Agree with comments on that particular i7! Best check cpubenchmark site for particular chip number rating; an i7 can rate lower than the better i3s; Me happy with i5 4590 (CPU benchmark 7500 ish, about 7× a basic Celeron!)

what?! I thought Woolworth is moved out of the uk

Trash dedicated graphics that you'd be better off without.

Missed the VAT deadline so this is now £579. I'm looking for something within £500 which can play games like Bioshock Infinite and Skyrim (not at highest specs, just reasonable performance). Any suggestions on this Currys one at £499 which has almost identical specs except i5-4210U processor instead of the i7?

I actually ended up buying this one, it's awesome. It has a hybrid hard drive (SSHD) rather than a standard HDD so the laptop loads super quick and loads programs quickly. The i5 isn't that far off of the i7,i don't think you'd notice that difference that much anyway.

Also, if you can get someone on o2 to lend you their sim, or give you a code from their app, there are codes for £30 off a £300+ spend. Or you can get £50 off a £500+ spend if you add a cheap item. When I bought it they added a penny to the item for me to bring it to £500 with a price override, if you ask they may do the same for you.

I spoke to the store manager today, he agreed the offer was misrepresented and agreed to refund the VAT if Lenovo do not pay out, the sales information they had specified it was on the promotion, no mention of the minimum price.

So in a few weeks I will return for my partial refund. So £366.66 for this laptop is a great deal. (£50 Morrisons Fuelsave)

I actually reserved it last Sunday at my local store but when I went to pick it up, they were so clueless, incompetent and dubious that I returned empty handed. First they tried to sell me a version of the laptop with a recovery usb drive for £35 extra. I said I was fine without it and could do the recovery stick myself. They weren't happy but still went looking for my item. After a while they came back to say only the version with the recovery stick was available. I said I was happy to take it but wouldn't pay extra as that wasn't the version I reserved. Again after some time they came back to say they could do that but would have to remove the usb stick from the box. At this point I gave up and came back without collecting. And all the while I was waiting the staff argued and shouted at each other. I emailed customer services to complain but obviously haven't heard back.

Now I'm in two minds whether to go pick up from another store or treat this as a sign and wait for a better deal!
